Cute, somewhat predictable read. Light and easy to pick up, even though some of the subject matter is a little heavier. Raises the question of what would you do if you won the lottery?

What happened when you win the national Lottery? A fun look at the change a lot of money can do to a person 's life. There is a sprinkling of deep friendship throughout,, a cancer journey, and a slow burn romance.
**Time to Fly**
by Lyn Asquith
A moving story of transformation and courage, *Time to Fly* follows a character ready to leave behind old fears and take flight into a new chapter. With lyrical prose and emotional depth, Lyn Asquith crafts a tale of resilience, second chances, and the quiet power of becoming who you were meant to be. Uplifting and heartfelt. 🕊️🌅💫
Helen, oh, Helen.
This is cozy, emotional and well written. I was living the story, not just reading it. Time To Fly will take you from smiling to tears. I can't help but recommend you to take a blanket, some tea and sit down to enjoy this story.
Characters are memorable and the emotional realistic tension will surround you.
I had high expectations and it did not disappoint! I would absolutely love for Lyn Asquith to release another book!
I loved seeing Helen’s growth and her friendship with Ana, Ben, and George.
The pacing was exactly what the story needed, giving me the chance to connect more deeply with the characters and their journey.
I also really appreciated that the main storyline wasn’t centered on romance and allowed other important themes, like grief, to shine through. The writing felt engaging and heartwarming throughout. I truly hope everyone gets the chance to have a friendship like Ana’s and Helen’s.
I look forward to Lyn Asquith's next novel Time to Fly is well-written, though provoking and populated by characters that will stay with you long after the final word.

its a question we all ask ourselves and others don't we? who hasn't had the conversation of what if they won the lottery. not least how you could possibly keep it a secret. some must. be in the days of everything and everyone knowing all due to social media and the like, well, how does things that huge stay secret?
this book follow Helen. she lives life as she lives it. its her routine, its simple really. but all the while she has something that lingers hard each day. and that is her best friend whos got aggressive cancer.
then one day life turns on its head. she wins the lottery. now what!? she wants to distribute the money, but she wants to do so without anyone knowing or finding out about her.(of course whilst also dreaming of holidays and mansions.)
one of her lottery adviser is Ben. and she soon forms more than a practical interest in him.
i really liked reading Helen and Ana's friendship. it was so true. so strong. it was heartfelt and heartbreaking reading about them and knowing what Ana was facing. you felt for them both. you could feel Helen's absolute wish to make Ana better. if only money could do that. if only this win could do that.
and then there is a particularly determined character that seems to be making it their mission to uncover Helen's secret. she cant have this being shared in the media and doesn't know how to deal with this problem.
this was a really interesting read that was a lot more emotionally layered than i thought it would be going in. i liked the questions that lingered in me from it. and i liked seeing how the different facets in this book led you on a path of those questions. because we have this big win, but we also has what that could never fix. we have wanting to give back but knowing you must do so under cover. and we have people who seemingly always want to disrupt peoples choices or peace.
and then the romance had its own complications.
i really liked Helen as a character. she was deeply human and i just felt so much for her and Ana. these gals pals didn't deserve to have to be separated. their friendship was so solid and built on such embracing love for each other.
all in all a good read. one which hit deeper than i first thought it would and that was actually no bad thing.
Thank you The Book Guild and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Helen wins the lottery and wants to distribute the money anonymously to members of her community in need all while dealing with love interest Ben and her best friends illness. This was a good story. The plot was great and I did love the characters chemistry. The secondary characters are great. This was a first for me by this author but it will not be my last.
