Description

The unsolved murder of Fred Morelli, in Utica, New York, in 1947, comes to the fore more than 60 years later when 15-year-old Angel, hacker extraordinaire, has his guitar smashed by Victor Bocca, one of the original suspects in the murder. Angel hacks files that may point not only to Bocca's involvement but also that of the mob. From there, mayhem breaks loose as assassins descend on Utica to silence Angel. In the midst of it is Angel's adoptive father, Eliot Conte, who, along with his close friend Police Chief Antonio Robinson, must try to unravel the mystery of what is going on before more killings take place, including that of Angel himself.

3 stars!

Okay, this was a different one for me. There were so many characters and so many of them were almost alike that I kept getting them confused - Morelli and Moretti - one was dead and one was not. That was a huge difference Ha! I chuckled a few times. I was kept interested, why I don't know. I guess it was just so crazy that I just had to stick with it just to see what this bunch of Italian guys were actually talking about. Bestseller it was not, but I can see how some people would like it.

For me, it was just okay.

Thanks Guernica and Net Galley for providing me with this free e-galley in exchange for an honest review.

An intriguing read that requires concentration to keep up with a storyline that bounces about but is ultimately worthwhile. Interesting characters and dialogue keep it racing along . Enjoyed it.

This story is a wise guys story in the neighborhood hangouts and the old guys sitting in cafes visiting or taking care of business with present day technology thrown . If you are a fan of crime noir this is a great book for you. As a murder from the past reaches the present it becomes clear that there is more involved than was originally discovered especially after the teenage hacker "Angel" starts investigating on his own. Now his life is in danger. Will a new killing spree start before they can discover what really happened in that long ago murder. Great read. I would like to thank the publisher and Net Galley for the chance to read this ARC.

An interesting premise and entertaining read. It is difficult following the characters.though. In many ways it feels like the author is writing for a male audience. I enjoyed the book and will look for additional books by this author.
