Description
One portal, two worlds, a whole lot of music, adventure, and maybe... even love.
Aiden has always felt off-key. Born the day the world split into two—one male, one female—he’s spent his life chasing a music career in a society where AI floods the airwaves, and human talent is seen as overpriced and obsolete. Now thirty, with stardom slipping through his fingers and loneliness setting in, Aiden’s ready to give up. Until he stumbles upon a portal to the other world—where human music thrives—and meets someone who might be the key to everything he’s lost.
Joana is a robotics whiz stuck in a loop. She once dreamed of building the future, but these days she’s more into fried foods than breakthroughs. When her former crush, an adorned pop star, ropes her into a gig, old ambitions and feelings reignite, just in time for a peculiar stranger to enter her life, striking a chord she thought was long gone.
As their worlds collide in a lighthearted adventure of music, discovery, and unexpected connections, Aiden and Joana have one shot to restore harmony before the portal disappears, taking with it their dreams, their hope, and their chance at love.

It's an interesting concept and some moments felt so relatable even if I'm not living in that world. In general, and personally, it was a good story with a very unique idea, it has so much potential for future stories with other characters.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.
This book had me hocked from page one. I enjoyed the characters. They had great chemistry. I enjoyed the secondary characters as well. If you need a pallet cleanser this is a great book to start with. The story line and plot of this book was great. This was a first for me by this author and it will not be my last.

3.5/5
First, I’d like to thank NetGalley and author Sirus Simons for providing me with an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review! I genuinely had such a great time reading this story. There were several moments that made me laugh out loud. The writing style was easy to follow which was exactly what I needed after a long day at work.
I also found the concept refreshing; two worlds in which men and women are forced to live separately, and two protagonists each driven by their own mission. The story is filled with heartwarming moments, mysteries and the occasional bit of awkwardness that makes the characters feel VERY human (*cough* Aiden *cough*)
I have to admit, I found Aiden quite selfish for a large part of the book but honestly, who can blame him? He’s discovering possibilities in a world that until recently was completely unknown to him. Joana, on the other hand, was extremely relatable with her inner struggles, strong sense of responsibility and resilience.
Overall, this was an enjoyable read that kept me hooked from start to finish. I’m already curious to see what Sirus Simons will come up with next!
The concept behind this novel is genuinely interesting. It imagines a world where men and women exist separately, each trying to fill the gaps left by the other. There are some fascinating ideas about identity in this story. I also really liked the way music and technology are woven into the story. Those parts felt creative.
That said, I did struggle with the writing. The dialogue didn’t always sound natural, and there’s a lot of telling rather than showing. I also found that the author sometimes assumes the reader will understand certain phrases or bits of language that aren’t clearly explained. It left me feeling a little lost in places. I feel like this novel could be a lot stronger with just one more round of edits.
I think the heart of this book is really strong and it's a story a traditional publisher would be afraid to put out there. There’s a unique vision here, and I admire this author for it.
Harmonies Apart is one of those books that I wanted to love completely-and while it didn't fully get there for me, it still left an impression. Sirus Simons has such a delicate, emotional writing style; there are passages that genuinely took my breath away. There were other moments that made me laugh out loud. The themes of distance, identity, and connection were beautifully woven, and the main character's inner conflict felt deeply real.
That said, the pacing felt uneven in parts-some sections hit with raw intensity, while others dragged enough that I had to push myself to keep going. I also found myself wishing for a bit more clarity in certain relationships or motivations; it sometimes felt like the emotional threads didn't quite tie together. Despite all of that, I really appreciate the uniqueness of this book! The premise felt super original and unlike anything else l've read!
When the book works, it really works. The lyrical prose, the bittersweet tone, and those quiet, reflective moments make it worth reading. It's a story that hums softly rather than roars-imperfect, yes, but still resonant in its own way.
Overall, I enjoyed this, and I'll definitely be recommending it to people on release day!
Thank you NetGalley and Sirus Simons for this eARC!
this was a strong opening chapter to the Silvervale series, it had that genre element that I was hoping for and enjoyed from this type of book. It was a unique concept and worked with the world that was going on. The characters had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed from this type of book. Sirus Simons wrote this well and left me wanting more, in both this series and from Sirus Simons.
I genuinely had such a great time with this story, there were several moments that had me laughing out loud, and the writing style was very easy to follow.
The premise felt refreshing and unique. The book is filled with heartwarming moments, and just enough awkwardness to make the characters feel incredibly human.
I'll admit it took a while for Aiden to grow on me, but he did eventually.
Joana, on the other hand, was an instant favorite. She’s an awesome FMC who is easy to root for from start to finish.
Overall, this is a lovely sci-fi novel with twists, turns, and plenty of heart. It kept me hooked the entire way through, and I’m already excited to see what Sirus Simons comes up with next!!

My Thoughts:
I absolutely loved this! This was such a cute little read. The idea of the parallel worlds was so fun and I loved how goofy and awkwardly adorable Aiden was in his quest to woo Joana. I thought the way they each integrated into each other’s worlds was really interesting and it was so funny to see them adjusting to slang and fashion and technology across the worlds. The way all of the characters ended up coming together to help try to fix the worlds was amazing and I loved seeing how some of them were connected in really significant ways. The ending was such a cliffhanger but I definitely look forward to seeing what’s next in this universe.
Thanks NetGalley, and Author Sirus Simons for the advanced copy of "Harmonies Apart" I am leaving my voluntary review in appreciation.
