Description

A second-chances friends-to-lovers redemption story featuring a rockstar hero in need of forgiveness, a jilted drummer heroine craving belonging, and a secret crush revealed.

He broke my heart. Now he wants me back.

KACIE: Micah Andrews was my everything—bandmate, best friend, and secret crush—until he replaced me as the drummer in his band.

I was devastated. I moved back home and vowed never to let myself be vulnerable again.

Now he's begging me to come back to help him record an album on a super tight timeline. Rebecca—his new drummer—left him high and dry, and the label's given him an ultimatum: Finish the album or they're canceling his upcoming tour.

I tried to say no. I told him to find another drummer. But Micah doesn't want another drummer.

He wants me.

I hear the emotion in his voice. I know how much he's counting on me right now, and I also know how utterly lost I've been without him. I can't walk away from this chance to repair our friendship, but I'd better figure out how to protect my heart—and fast—or Micah might just break it into a thousand pieces all over again, and then I'd lose my best friend. Forever.

Quick Summary: An I'm in love with a rocker romance

My Review: Just Friends With a Rockstar by Kitt Henley is book #1 in the Soulmates series. It is listed as "A Spicy Friends to Lovers Romance." The scheduled release date for this novella is 9/30/25.

About the Book: "He broke my heart. Now he wants me back."

In My Own Words: Best friends part ways only to come back together again to make beautiful music in love.

About the Characters:

KACIE - > Talented, insecure, unique (although she views herself as being "average"), good

MICAH - > Hungry, driven (but at what cost), decent, regretful

As friends, Kacie and Micah had something special. An unfortunate choice created havoc in their partnership and relationship. For a while there, I did not care for Micah. I was waiting for him to make things right. In terms of Kacie, I liked her, but at one point, I wanted to say, "Don't fall for the okee-doke, girl!" Thankfully, things between them took a turn and truths were finally spoken.

June and Anthony -> Might I have more? The intro to their story had me clapping my hands and stomping my feet. I already know I will love their romance. Bring it on!

The other rocker girl drama - > That was done so well. (I'll stop there, because I know I'll say too much.)

About the Conflict: The main conflict points were rooted in misunderstandings and poor choices. The way that they were revealed worked for the story and kept the tension between the friends present.

My Favorite Scenes (coded, so as to avoid spoilers):

- Running and Rhythms
- Lyrics
- No, Not You!

My Final Say: This was the rockstar romance I needed. It was light and easy, but it was also sweet and kick--s. It was a fantastic start to what should be an amazing series. I can't wait to read all of the stories.

Other: Readers who enjoy rocker romances, love stories between besties, and secret crush scenarios should like this book.
