Strap in for a scorching-hot and emotionally fulfilling ride. I went into Sparring Partners expecting a high-heat enemies-to-lovers romance - and I definitely got one! But what took me by delightful surprise was the depth of emotion I felt for these two wounded souls whose connection was so deeply healing. The chemistry between Kieran and Lily downright sizzles, from when they're first circling each other in the early pages, to when they fool themselves that they're not that into each other (sure, Jan), to when they finally admit the truth to themselves and each other. Erin Rose's ability to combine searing spice with tender vulnerability is applause-worthy. And they introduced a cast of supporting characters that have made me hungry for their next offering! Thank you NetGalley, Harlequin and Erin Rose for allowing me an early read of this wonderful debut.

Ok this book!! I finished it days ago, but have been thinking about the chemistry between the leads (and the SPICE) ever since. These authors packed so many layers of beautifully developed character and plot into the pages in a way that read as completely natural and seamless. And the spicy scenes punctuated it all to deepen it that much more. This is a wonderful debut and I can't wait to see what this writing duo does next!
