Description
In a world ravaged by a viral apocalypse, fifteen-year-old Ethan Mercer lives for one purpose: to protect his brother, Leo. Born from GeneCorp’s failed experiments to defeat death, Leo is a one-year-old whose body ages at a terrifying speed. Unlike the savage Accelerates, children transformed into predators by the virus, Leo clings to a fragile thread of humanity.
Together with Mia and Clara, two survivors altered by the same catastrophe, Ethan crosses a landscape of ruins and relentless danger. As they struggle to stay alive, Ethan faces the devastating truth that Leo, the last hope of redemption, may also be the instrument of humanity’s final collapse.
In a final act of sacrifice, Leo confronts his inevitable fate, altering the course of history in ways no one foresaw.
Years later, survivors gather in Leoland, a sanctuary where sunflowers grow in the rubble and memories remain alive. There, hope endures beyond all loss, proving that even in devastation, love can take root again.

Post apocalyptic story, this had me hooked from the first few chapters, first read from this author and is definitely a writing style I'd like to read more of. Fast paced interesting novel. The characters ethan and Leo a pair of brothers stirred alot of emotion.
Apocalypse with a Pulse: The Accelerates Blew Me Away!
A wild, heart-crushing, totally addictive sci-fi ride where brotherly love collides with the end of the world—and somehow, hope still wins. 💫

Interesting book that made me keep on reading until it was finished. The best thing about it is the writers style in writing. It's original and very nice for reading this fast paced book.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the free eARC. All opinions are my own.
The Accelerates: Forty Days to Dust pulled me in right from the first chapter with its mix of heart-pounding action and deep emotional stakes. Ethan’s fierce devotion to his rapidly aging brother, Leo, makes the story both thrilling and heartbreaking. The ruined world they navigate feels eerily believable, but it’s the fragile hope that shines through the devastation that really stuck with me. I loved how the story balanced sci-fi intensity with raw humanity—it’s the kind of book that lingers long after you finish it.
💥 Okay, I did not expect to get emotional over a post-apocalyptic virus story, but here we are! The Accelerates: Forty Days to Dust hits you with heart, chaos, and brotherly love that’ll wreck your feelings—in the best way. Ethan and Leo? Total heartbreak duo. The world’s gone to dust, but this book proves hope’s still kicking (and sprinting!). If you like your sci-fi with a big dose of feels and a few “oh no they didn’t!” moments, grab this one pronto. 🌻🔥
