This beautifully illustrated book tells the story of a forest that has been around for 100 years, for a thousand years. As the seasons change and the animals come and go, the forest stays, resilient and strong.

While I very much liked the illustrations, I loved the rhythm of the text. What an enjoyable story. I can see teachers and librarians using this book several times during the year for lessons on nature, seasons, Earth Day, the environment, animal life, etc. I highly recommend it.

A beautiful, gentle picture book that perfectly captures the quiet passage of time and the changing of the seasons. Yibing Deng's soft, lyrical text and stunning pencil illustrations, in her debut as an illustrator, create an enchanting world for young readers to explore. The story of a mother bear and her cubs experiencing the wonders of the forest is both peaceful and heartwarming. It's a gorgeous and thoughtful book that is perfect for bedtime or for a gentle introduction to the natural world.

What a sweet look at the changing of seasons in a place that remains unchanged by time year after year. I loved that this story took us on a journey with different wildlife as the seasons melted into one another. As a primary teacher and mom to three littles, this is a great introduction or review on seasons and how they effect the weather and wildlife.
