Description

The Caching Out Omnibus contains Books 1-3 of this cozy mystery series.

First to Find:

Death is the hardest puzzle to solve.

Margarita Williams escaped death at a young age, but its shadow has followed her all her life. Now, amidst the chaos of a new Australian roommate and mysterious, menacing neighbors, Death has set the puzzlemaker a puzzle of her own. Someone is killing her fellow geocachers, one by one.

Supersmeller Bindi Ryan left Australia to marry a man who abandoned her the minute her plane landed in Oregon. When thieves steal a local sculpture and a teenage friend is blamed, Bindi and her nose must prove him innocent and find the real culprits. But are she and Margarita working on two mysteries, or one?

If they can’t solve the final puzzle, the killer will strike one final, deadly blow.

Death Will Attend

Three months after catching a killer, Margarita escapes to a historic hotel with Drew and Bindi for a Valentine’s weekend of geocaching. But during the love-themed costume ball, the CEO of a satellite navigation company keels over—and then his body vanishes.

As the weekend progresses, Margarita discovers threatening messages in the logbooks of local geocaches. Her attempts to unmask the blackmailer are thwarted by the last person she would have expected.

With a stubborn sheriff on the case, Margarita and Bindi must take matters into their own hands. But whether they’re chasing one killer or two, they have a problem: all their suspects seem to have solid alibis.

Between misunderstandings, outright lies, old secrets, and more than one corpse, it’s not Love in the air anymore. It’s Death.

Nine Feet Under

Margarita and Bindi have big plans for the Fourth of July, involving borrowed bicycles, a geocaching power trail, live podcasts, and plenty of fun. But their day quickly goes awry when they stumble upon what looks like a murder in progress.

Strange rivalries and secret alliances test Margarita's puzzle-solving skills, and Bindi suffers a rather painful setback when she comes face to face with someone she never thought she'd see again.

The overly stoic sheriff can't be in two places at once, so the girls need to figure out whodunit and rescue the next potential victim before the explosive finale.

What is Geocaching?

From Geocaching.com: "Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location."

I loved this book, with the bonus of three books in one, what a wonderful bonus, but more importantly the stories are such fun, who though one could have so much excitement hiding and finding boxes just to sign the log in order to beat the next person. Being Australian I love the character of Bindi, very tongue in cheek. (we really don't speak like that - not for a long while anyway) . All the stories were in the "can't stop reading" category, and where full of mystery, excitement and characters.

First to Find is the first of these three very enjoyable mysteries in this omnibus, told alternately from both Margarita and Bindi's perspective. The two unlikely roommates do not know each other overly well, but make a believable and likable team.

These cozy mysteries are drenched with Geocaching, and as a complete novice to that pastime, I really learned a lot. The rules, habits and activities of geocaching were explained in an interesting, easy to understand way. Not only did geocaching add to the story, it really was the story.

Both Margarita and Bindi have personal demons which come along for the journey, and their stories and personal growth parallel the solving of the mysteries. While there are some loose ends and several hard to believe moments, overall it is a pleasing read.

In the first few pages on the first book there were a lot of characters introduced and new to me geocaching terms. Once I got everything straight I enjoyed these mysteries. I liked the relationship between Margarita and Bindi. The mystery and the characters are interesting. I do not Geocache but I still enjoyed reading about it. Enjoy these three mysteries.

The caching out omnibus by Morgan c talbart is a mystery and thriller read. Morganta Williams escaped death at a young age, but it's shadow has followed her all her life. Now, amidst the chaos of a new Australian roommate and mysterious, menacing neighbours. Death has set the puzzlemaker a puzzle of her own. Absolutely fantastic read. I loved the story and the characters. Morganta was my favourite character. Had me gripped from start to finish. Devoured in 2 days. It wasn't who I thought it was. There was nothing I disliked about this book. Highly recommended. 5* from me. Thanks to netgalley for the arc.
