Holly Newbury’s life is on hold in the cozy English village of Chilton Crosse. While her friends are marrying, having children, and embarking on successful careers, Holly is raising her three younger sisters and working part time at the village art gallery. Her life feels incomplete, but family is more important to her than anything. Then a film crew’s arrival galvanizes the community, and Holly becomes fast friends with Fletcher Hays, the movie’s love-shy American writer.

The production of an Emma film isn’t the only drama in town, though. Their father makes a choice that threatens everything she gave up her dreams for. Holly’s sisters endure growing pains. And Fletcher plans to return to America as soon as filming is over, ruining any chance of their relationship blossoming further. Excellent story about sisters in small English town; filming of a movie comes to town which changes everyone's life. Several plots allow the book to keep your interest . Highly recommend.

After enjoying Painting the Moon, I immediately immersed myself into Finding the Rainbow, Book 2 of Ms. Borum’s Chilton Crosse series. If you are looking for a family based women’s fictional read, you may want to check into this one. Holly Newbury was the heart and soul of this story, just like she was for her family as sister and caretaker of pretty much everyone she came across. She reminded me of a butterfly. Fluttering throughout this close knitted village leaving behind in her wake acts of kindness and gentle words of encouragement. There is little wonder she had little time for romance, since she was always looking after everyone else. Speaking of which, that is something this book had very little of …romantic moments between the main couple.

I must admit I was tempted to write a critical review, because I thought this story was supposed to be mostly about Holly and Fletcher, and American screenwriter who worked nearby on the filming of a version of Emma. However, since they didn’t even kiss until near the very end, and he started dating someone else, I realized just because my expectations were not met did not mean it wasn’t a good story. Yes, it did cause me to start skimming through pages. Yes, I definitely wanted more interaction between the main couple. However, I must say it did lead up to a very romantic moment when Holly got the final text from Fletcher. Now that kiss, my romance book-loving friends, would put the legendary Spiderman upside down kiss to shame. My anger at Fletcher dating someone else dissipated just as quickly as my heart melted.

By the way, he explains why he went out with the other girl. Believe it or not, you will likely forgive him for it. Well, mostly. I have to admit I’m still a little ticked about it, even though it was only a couple of times. It certainly severely bent, came close to breaking, one of my rules regarding romantic reads. #1 Hero must never show interest in anyone other than the heroine.

So maybe it was Holly’s gentle soul that lead this avid mafia romance reader to be so forgiving in writing this review. She did spend a great deal of time thinking about Fletcher. Some readers may feel that is enough. It certainly made it more of an emotional than physical romance between them.

Holly's mom had passed away while she was at university. She immediately quit and went back home to help her dad with her three sisters. Holly met Fletcher when a film was to be done at the manor not far from her home. Holly gave up everything to raise her sisters and take care of everything for her dad. Eventually her dad found happiness, so now who would need Holly?

This was a beautiful story of how a family could and should be. I loved the characters, especially Holly and eventually Fletcher, with all the twists and turns they go through. I highly recommend to anyone that likes this genre.

A very satisfying second installment and I enjoyed getting to know more people from the village. The ultimate ending with Holly & Fletcher was predictable - but I expected that from this type of book :) Still a warm, enjoyable story (and clean!)
