I loved this book - my child did as well! The vivid colors were great! The facts were also interesting. It was a short and simple book but good all the same.
The rhyming is enjoyable and the artwork is excellently done that kids (and adults) are easily drawn in to read it. Also the explainer are so informative to help give you background on Central Park.
Central Park: Adventures Through the Seasons is a true treat. Cristina Ergunay’s gentle, poetic text pairs beautifully with Gareth Lucas’s stunning, detail-rich illustrations. It’s more a tag-along through the park than a story, sprinkled with charming bits of history. A lovely read for children and adults alike, perfect for discovering Central Park’s magic through every season.
Central Park is an incredibly lovely read! It's vibrant and beautiful, and bright! I adore the illustrations which look like a mix of many kinds of techniques. I lived in NY for a few years and was so delighted to see the Central Park zoo in these pages, along with the map at the end of the book which lists many of the sections of Central Park I miss very much.
Central Park is a stunning celebration of the beloved New York location. With vibrant, sharp edged illustrations, the illustrator brings the excitement of Central Park to life. The colors pop much like the views throughout will for children and excited tourists alike. This is a book that keeps giving because while it has a central rhyming story that can be quickly read through, there are also informative passages about each location throughout the read that can be used for learning more background on the subject. Each night a different page can be discussed and explored if a family wants to use this as a returning nighttime storybook. I will certainly be getting a copy or two for my public library.

This is a great introduction for kids to what can be found in Central Park through the different seasons, we have only visited in the summer but it definitely looks like a visit in the winter and at Christmas may well be needed! Central Park has been in Manhattan since 1858 when it’s construction first began and the book highlights the different types of architecture, art and wildlife and natural rocky habitats. The book has some lovely illustrations that are bright and charming and really do bring the book to life. There is a page at the back too which can allow children to look further in to Central Park itself or the Park’s architects, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux. It is 5 stars from me for this one – it is a charming children’s book! Very highly recommended!
My four year old daughter loved this book. The artwork is beautiful and bright and kept her attention throughout the book. I like the combination of short sentences mixed with the Central Park facts. Would highly recommend.

This was such a lovely book and made my heart so incredibly happy. I was hit with a wave of nostalgia as I read this book. So many of the places mentioned in the book reminded me of my childhood in New York City. I had a blast reading this book to my son and pointing out all of my favorite places, including the ones I went to on field trips as a child.
The artwork is also beautiful. I love that there is a resources page at the back of the book with a brief history about the architects who helped design the park, as well as links to websites regarding the park.
