Description
London, 1989. Thatcher is on her way out and Anna has just moved to the big city, full of plans and dreams for the future. When she meets Dan, the sparks fly and they become instant lovers, yet they never publicly acknowledge their relationship and eventually drift apart.
As the years pass - New Labour is voted in and BritPop and BritArt make Britannia cool again – chance encounters keep Dan and Anna criss-crossing each other’s lives, until one day, something unexpected happens that will change both of their futures for ever.

Right away I was drawn in by the beautiful cover! The vibes were unmatched! I love a gorgeous love story set in our beautiful UK and this one was grievous as it spanned many different time frames and I was so curious to see where it was going as it did not reveal much in the blurb. It was gorgeously written and I hope it gets made into a film.

Anna and Dan pushed me all around with their game on my emotions. what a story. it felt like i knew them. how did Julie tell me their whole life story. how did i want to sit and cry at the end simply because of how beautiful this story was.
Anna and Dan took me through their whole lives.
we meet many along the way. they do too. but you love the one you love right, Hulk?
do we agree with Anna? do we think she is making the right choice? i dont know all i knew is i was already far too involved with this group.
when Sally and Anna spoke about Dan and his black eye i felt my younger self swoon. i knew Ana was a gonna in that moment too. or perhaps long before then for her.
their journey is one of reality. its one of pain for us readers not quite knowing where this will go. you think you do. then you dont. you think you can handle what to come. then you dont. but you have to because you are all in with this pair now. until the end.
the bumping shoulder moment of Jack and Anna though. that was what really started to settle my heart. and i know, not until then, eh? but i dont mind in this case. somehow i dont mind because this book blew me away in all the right places. and it made me want to cry almost, for the beauty of books! thanks Julie for this. i mean that.
