Description

An enemies-to-lovers dark academia romance set at the elite Scottish academy, featuring stunning stenciled edges and character art on the inside cover.

One night was all it took to shatter Olive Henderson’s world. After a devastating fire at Dunbridge Academy, her life is left in ruins. Her injuries forced her to repeat her junior year and the future she worked so hard for—her spot on the swim team, her plans to graduate with her friends—has slipped through her fingers. Starting over feels impossible, and Dunbridge no longer feels like home.

Then Colin Fantino arrives. The new student from New York is everything Olive doesn’t need—arrogant, guarded, and determined to hate his new life in Scotland. Banished from his former life in the city, Colin wants nothing to do with Dunbridge or anyone in it. But Olive sees cracks in his hardened exterior, and against her better judgment, she’s drawn to the boy who seems just as lost as she is.

As their connection deepens, Olive begins to find hope again—hope for herself, for her future, and for the possibility of love. But Colin is keeping secrets, and when Olive discovers the real reason he was sent to Dunbridge, their fragile bond is put to the ultimate test.

Can two broken souls find a way to heal together, or will the weight of their pasts pull them apart?

wow.

this was such a raw, real and gut wrenching story. the mental health aspect for these characters is real and relatable on so many levels (please read trigger warnings).

i felt seen and connected to both olive and and colin.
their dynamic is fiery banter from the moment they meet and slowly fall for each other. seeing their views of each other and the slowness of falling in love was top tier.

olive and colin have so many layers and so much depth. the story lines are weaved together and connected in a way that’s gripping.

Anytime by Sarah Sprinz is an emotional new-adult romance about timing, healing, and the courage it takes to open your heart again. When two people with complicated pasts find themselves drawn together, their connection feels both unexpected and undeniable. As they navigate personal struggles, vulnerability, and the fear of getting hurt, they slowly learn that love doesn’t always arrive at the “perfect” moment—sometimes it simply arrives when you’re ready to fight for it. Tender, heartfelt, and full of quiet emotional depth, this story explores how love can grow even in uncertain moments. 💗📚

This book was so much more emotional than I expected, definitely a tear-jerker. An excellent romance with emotional depth and the perfect amount of romance that keeps you reading. This is the best book from Sarah Sprinz yet, and I can't wait to read more!

I really liked the first two books in this series and was excited to receive an early copy of Anytime. This one is Anna and Colin's story, and it is the best one yet! Sometimes, when you start a series with a long gap between books, you forget some of what is going on. This was not the case with this one. I fell right back into the dark academia world of Dunbridge Academy and continued. I easily devoured it in one day and went searching to see when the next one will be available. Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher, for providing me with the ebook that I read and reviewed. All opinions are my own.

I couldn’t wait to read Olive’s book, and I absolutely loved it—this might be my favorite in the series. Olive and Colin’s connection was beautiful and fascinating, and both characters felt so real and emotionally raw. Colin especially stood out to me; he was complex and thoughtfully written. Such a great book, and I really wish there were more in the series!

This was a 4.5 star read for me, I devoured this book in a day, and it has easily become my favorite of hers so far. I loved the premise and the character development.

The story follows Colin and Olivia, both of whom have endured deeply traumatic events and are learning how to move through life while grieving and adjusting to their new realities. I loved their chemistry, and I especially liked that the side characters weren’t overly prominent. It made it easier to focus on the tragedy and emotional connection between Colin and Olivia.

Olivia is determined and resilient, refusing to let her circumstances hold her back. With the support of those around her, she pushes forward against all odds. Colin, meanwhile, is learning more about himself and striving to do right by others. He begins to leave his reckless ways behind as he works through self-harming behaviors, ultimately finding inner peace and clarity about what truly matters. He also realizes he doesn’t miss his old life and that Dunbridge offers him peace and tranquility. Colin and Olivia’s chemistry was undeniable. As they learned to accept and understand each other, they found ways to helping one another through incredibly difficult moments. Together, they discovered how to trust, rely on others, and heal.

I always end up disliking the endings of these books because I just want more. I would have loved an epilogue set further in the future. Overall, I truly enjoyed this book, and it has definitely earned a spot at the top of my favorites list.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
THANK YOU LYX BOOKS AND NETGALLEY for this ARC! Slow burn. Sharp edges. Soft hearts.
Anytime is a dark academia romance that doesn’t just flirt with pain—it sits with it, studies it, and slowly learns how to live again 🕯️🖤. This is enemies-to-lovers for readers who want their romance steeped in grief, healing, and yearning glances across candlelit rooms.
After a devastating fire shatters her life, Olive Henderson is forced back to Dunbridge Academy—and back into the version of herself she barely survived 🔥💔. Her anger, fear, and grief feel raw and painfully real, making her journey hit hard in the best way.
Enter Colin Fantino 🖤✈️: closed-off, infuriating, emotionally unavailable, and clearly hiding something. The tension between Olive and Colin crackles from the start—sharp words, guarded hearts, and that unmistakable something is brewing energy. Their enemies-to-lovers arc is deliciously slow, built on hesitant conversations, emotional honesty, and the quiet realization that sometimes the person who understands your pain the most is standing right in front of you.
What really makes this story shine is its focus on healing. Olive finding her way back to herself—her confidence, her hope, her ability to love—matters just as much as the romance itself 🕯️✨. Colin’s secrets add weight and tension, constantly asking the question: can love survive when trust is fragile?
The dark academia setting wraps everything in a moody, intimate atmosphere—isolated halls, heavy emotions, late-night conversations that feel like confessions 📖🌙. Yes, it’s angsty. Yes, it’s slow. And yes, the emotional payoff is completely worth it.
Final verdict: a quiet, devastating, beautifully written slow-burn about two broken souls finding comfort—and love—where they least expect it 🖤🔥
Perfect for readers who live for dark academia vibes, healing arcs, and romances that hurt a little before they heal.

This story centers around Olive and Colin. I really enjoyed their story and watching them grow. Olive begins the story returning to Dunbridge where she was injured years prior. As she gets to know Colin, whom she can't stand, she begins to see a new life for herself. A great story!

Anytime by Sarah Sprinz

This book felt like coming home… and saying goodbye all at once.

Returning to Dunbridge Academy one last time was emotional in a way I didn’t expect. Anytime is the final book in the Dunbridge Academy series, and it is such a beautiful, aching, satisfying conclusion. Sarah Sprinz has a way of writing stories that feel soft and intense at the same time, and this one absolutely wrecked me in the best way.

Olive and Colin are both carrying so much loss, guilt, and quiet pain. Olive’s life was split into a before and after the fire, and watching her try to rebuild herself when everything she worked for was taken from her felt incredibly raw and real. Colin, on the other hand, arrives at Dunbridge angry, guarded, and deeply closed off, clearly running from something he refuses to name. Their connection starts sharp and messy, full of friction and misunderstandings, but underneath it all is this deep sense of recognition. Two broken people seeing each other when no one else really does.

What I loved most about this book is how healing is portrayed. It isn’t instant. It isn’t neat. It’s slow, uncomfortable, and full of setbacks. Olive and Colin don’t fix each other, but they make space for one another to breathe again, to hope again, and that made their romance feel incredibly earned. The emotional tension had me hooked, and just when I thought I knew where the story was going, it surprised me.

My favorite part was the atmosphere. The elite Scottish academy setting, the weight of shared history, the lingering trauma of the fire, and the quiet moments in between all the big emotions made this story feel so immersive. It’s emotional without being overdramatic, romantic without being unrealistic, and painful in a way that feels honest.

This truly is a worthy finale to the Dunbridge Academy series. I’m still not sure which book is my favorite, and honestly, that says everything.

Olive must repeat her year in high school after a fire. Colin arrives from NY and he hates everything. Olive is drawn to him...

Both Olive and Colin went through so much trauma... So not a rom-com for sure... But it's a very engaging romance.... The characters are terrific.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

This is Book 3 in The Dunbridge Academy series. I did not read Book 1, but I have read Books 2 & 3... they are considered interconnected standalones.

This is Olive & Colin's story.

It's an emotional read. They are dealing with some hard things - self harm, abuse, parents being caught cheating & going through a divorce. It isn't a lighthearted read.

However, it is well written. You want to laugh & cry with the characters. And they do have a happily ever after.

Thank you to the author, publisher & Netgalley for the ARC read. All opinions are my own.
