A good easy read Scottish romance. An insta love book that hit all the right notes and had just the right amount of action and drama to keep this book light and interesting. I would have loved a longer epilogue but that may be because i didn't want this book to end as i was completely enthralled with the characters and their HEA.

Lady of the Loch is a book I really enjoyed, I love historical romance and this book takes place in Scotland during the time of the war between England and Scotland.
Paden is a young woman who has been promised in marriage to a man she does not even know, as that is how it was back then, the daughters were betrothed to whom their father deemed a good match all the way around for both clans usually.
Paden and her brother, Richard, are out one day and she is discussing this with her brother, who has been her closest friend and playmate since they were both old enough to get into trouble together. On this particular day, she has been swimming in the loch and she is wearing nothing, and she spied a beautiful pear on a tree limb, hanging over the loch. Thinking it is sturdy enough, she climbs the tree and then when she reaches for the pear, the limb cracks, and she falls to what should have been her death into the loch! Before her brother gets to her she is rescued, and instantly enamored of the man who rescued her. After her brother gets to her the man leaves as he is on s mission.
As he leaves Richard looks at his horse and sees the crest of his clan and realizes they have been helped by none other that The Black Knight,Faolin Mac Court, a man accused of killing his own twin brother for securing the Lairdship. As for Paden she does not believe it.
After returning home, she decides she wants to help him prove his innocence, but she does not know how she can do so, she just knows that overnight, she has developed feelings for him! She goes to her father to learn what she can, and although he does not want her to worry he does admit that he thinks the Black Knight is innocent and that someone from their clan is working for England to get him killed so they can become Laird over his lands.
Meanwhile Faolin is hiding in the bushland near an abandoned castle and hears the same thing by none other than the man that is supposed to marry Paden and that he plans to kill her! Faolin decides he needs to get ahold of Paden and take her with him so he can protect her, and that very think happens later that day and she does not think she should go with him, but he picks her up and after a few things happen she willingly goes.
What will happen; will Paden be killed or the Black Knight for that matter? Will he be able to prove his innocence? Will Paden be able to marry the man of her dreams? Read this book! It is filled with a lot of physical and emotional angst, a good plot line which twists and turns so that things will happen one does not expect, and there is some great romantic encounters as well.
All of the characters are well developed and I found myself really liking some of them and actually despising others. The book moves at a fast pace so there is no spots that lag. I think you will be pleases as well as I by the ending of this book!
I gave the author 5***** stars for this wonderful story.I received an ARC for this book and have given an honest review.

Paden is betrothed to a man her father has chosen for her and she has never met. While relaxing in the loch she almost drowns and is rescued by the notorious Blank Knight, a man accused of killing his brother. She instantly falls in love with him and decides to run away with the Black Knight and help him prove his innocence. I enjoyed the story and loved the characters this is a fast paced suspenseful read.

Well, what a delightful read this was! You just have to love a good Scottish romance. The men are so wonderfully....well Scottish! Well written and enjoyable. If Mr Ryan is anything like the men of this story, there must be a equally deserving woman out there.

I liked this novel, it didn't seem too much in the line of erotica, for me the love scenes could have been hotter and sexier. Paden meets the Black Knight when she almost drowns while swimming with her brother. She is enthralled by him, and he by her, and wants to know more about him. Faolin, the Black Knight, is on the run. He is accused of murdering his brother and sister-in-law, he of course knows he didn't murder them and is trying to find out who betrayed him and why.
When he finds out that Paden's betrothed is also his enemy, he steals Paden away to protect her. She is ready to be stolen away, this is no kidnapping, and she is also ready to pledge her undying love to him.
There was insta-love in this novel, but I did enjoy the characters. I liked the medieval setting.

Well written and enjoyable. Exciting, good and strong characters. Great banter!

Received fro NetGalley for an honest review.
