Description
Amanda Deaton left her hometown right after high school, looking for adventure. But now, thirty-five years later, her mom needs her, and this GenX nomad has come home. Bellevue, Kentucky has changed--they even have a Thai restaurant! And here where Amanda least expected it, a new kind of adventure might be looking for her.
Her yoga instructor, Chris, is hot. Like, making her stammer over her words, making her stare at him across a crowded sub shop hot. And wonder of wonders, he seems to be staring and stammering at her, too. But how does he know her high school nickname? Any guy that good-looking she would surely have remembered.
But just like Bellevue, Chris has changed a lot. Turbo, the skinny freshman trackstar, sweet but entirely unmemorable, has grown into a gorgeous, caring, confident man with a thriving career and a grown-up daughter. What hasn't changed is the torch he still carries for his high school crush.
Chris has dreamed of a life with Amanda since he was fourteen years old. At age 54, Amanda has never really given away her whole heart. Could their timing finally be right?

How do I put into words how much I enjoyed Not Too Late? This was the breath of fresh air I needed, no drama & no complications. This read was short & sweet and so great for me!
After moving back home to help her mom after hip surgery, Amanda walks into a yoga class and is met by an attractive instructor, Chris, who seems to be flirting with her. Little does she know, Amanda and Chris actually went to high school together and he has basically been in love with her since he was 13. Old feelings resurface while new ones are created and it is so sweet.
Other than mentioning the past, this book takes place mostly over a week so it is very fast paced. Despite the main characters being 50+, they both come off as so young and fun and I smiled a few times at their interactions. I recommend this for anyone looking for a quick second chance romance read!

A sweet (and just a little spicy) romance that reminds us that life and love don't stop after 30. Perfect for fans of second chances and very slow burns. Amanda returns to her small Kentucky hometown to help care for her mother and runs into Chris, who has grown up nicely over the last 35 years. A low stress and enjoyable read, especially for Gen Xers and elder millennials who will love recognizing the chapter names.

This is a great pallet cleanser for anyone who is looking for an older FMC/MC in a realistic place in life and dating. A sweet second chance at romance while balancing the stress of coming back home matched with the Gen X humor and whit comes through making these midlife characters read so fun without even trying. I loved that this story shows us at 50 life is just getting started! #netgalley #NotTooLate

This is a short and sweet romance about people over 50 finding love. Amanda left her hometown after high school to explore the world. But her mother has had complications after surgery and she returns home to care for her. She finds her hometown changed, and seeing old friends stirs a feeling of belonging. When she runs into a super cute yoga instructor, Chris, she is smitten. But Amanda doesn't realize they went to school together, and Chris has carried a torch for her for years.
A second chance at love is shown fairly realistically - like canceling a date because you stayed up too late the night before, or stopping your makeout sesh to give mom her pills.
This is for everyone hoping for older, more mature MC's.
I loved the chapter titles being GenX songs, and knew them all.
The story is quick, sweet, and just a lil spicy. Probably a 1.5 out of 5 in the spice department. Nothing wrong with that, as there is good build up but it isn't the point of the book.
I'm excited to see the author is continuing with this format. I'm not sure if it is a "series," as no one was left hanging for a sequel. Hopefully it's just older folks finding love.

I am not sure if I (middle millennial) am the "target audience" for this book but it was quite refreshing to read a book with older characters. I typically read books with main characters in their 20s and 30s, so to read a book with 50-somethings was new for me. Although I do know all of the songs that the chapters were named after.
This book is short (about 160 pages) and very fast paced (the whole book takes place within about a week's time), and is great as a quick book that you can read in one sitting.
There isn't any drama in the book and it is pretty conflict free, but sometimes, that's exactly what you want. It is just a quick story about two people, seeing each other for the first time in 3o years and falling in love. Nothing ground breaking or earth shattering, but a just a good fun story.

Amanda and Turbo are older now. this isn't high school. have they changed enough or not enough for things to be right for them now. and can you ever get over the ripples that follow you (often not in a good way for some) from high school. if we go home to all those places once again do we always revert to who we are no matter how young!
i really liked this later in life romance. we dont get enough of those. something ive only noticed now im in later life! how very little of a certain age or above there is. so i gravitate towards them instantly when i see any on the shelves.
it also felt good to read you can still be wooood, swoon and giggle and feel that same start to romance or attraction. how romance like this can happen at any age. infact add in the maturity and tenderness and it makes it even more readable and heartfelt.
Amanda came home after so long felt really well written. back to a town that didn't scream all happy memories and you could feel what she did. seeing Chris again who has also vry much changed felt nice. felt kind of really nice. have they both changed enough, have they both changed not enough to capture something special here.
i liked actually being able to read the maturity of our pair now. i love recognising the little things from the old days in this book too.
this was just what i needed today. something that felt really great to read. something to make you smile easily.it felt more heartfelt but young all at the same time. it felt fun but more meaningful all at the same time. it brings a brightness to the age and finding love there.
