What a wonderfully written story. It's fairly short for a novel but packs a punch. This is a book about how a woman of 50 years old loses her husband and the journey she makes with her two daughters into accepting people are flawed and forgiveness is a big part of life. Never preachy, Lucy must accept that her friends and neighbors in Vermont loved her husband too and hold her responsible for his early death. Lucy and her daughters find refuge and a new life in an abandoned home and a landlord, Jack, who has secrets of his own. Can't wait to read book two. Such an unexpected love story that will have you wishing the book was much longer. Enjoy this great story.
