Description

A meeting between a circus clown and a serial killer is not the funniest murder you ever heard of!

Cliona, a heroin abuser and petty criminal, goes on the run out of Ireland. In London, her old habits resurface as she tries to go straight but when encouraged to take up comedy work, she discovers her vocation.

In Croatia, biologist Leon’s chicanery to get ahead comes to naught when civil war breaks out. His proclivity for killing goes beyond military service as he becomes engrossed in extracurricular assassinations.

Cliona trains as a circus clown and on a charity tour of orphanages and refugee camps in Eastern Europe, her heart is won over by the deprived children and she decides to dedicate her life to humanitarian work.

The enemy forces are closing in on Leon and on taking up sanctuary in a refugee camp, his orbit intersects with that of Cliona. The coming together of the two disparate souls results in something completely unexpected.

The Dipping explores the irony of war, the interface between the positive side of human endeavour and its adversary, the social tendency towards destruction.
