Cliona, a heroin abuser and petty criminal, goes on the run out of Ireland. In London, her old habits resurface as she tries to go straight but when encouraged to take up comedy work, she discovers her vocation.

Cliona trains as a circus clown and on a charity tour of orphanages and refugee camps in Eastern Europe, her heart is won over by the deprived children and she decides to dedicate her life to humanitarian work.
