Description
Heaven is an Epic Fantasy novel about a young man from Gaza that dies in the war and passes to the afterlife. Based on Islamic theology, but accessible to non-Muslims.
• This novel deals with fundamental questions about this life and life after death, all explored through the viewpoint of a Gazan passing to the afterlife. Mainly:
- A life unfulfilled, how does it get fulfilled in Heaven? Will people resume working, learning, building, evolving?
- Are humans the same or different in Heaven?
- What are the traits of people favored by God?
- What is the shape of human relationships in Heaven? Can there be ambition? Community? Conflict? How’s all that affected by the baggage we bring with us from the first life?
- What are the limits of human knowledge in Heaven? Is all truth revealed? Is there more to explore?
All of that is explored through storytelling, with characters, drama, conflict, achievements and setbacks, joy and sadness, virtue, sin and redemption!

On the cusp of accepting Islam, I was delighted to discover this insightful book into the author’s fictional perspective of Heaven. As mentioned in the prologue, this novel is based on Islamic theology and deals with some aspects about this life and life after death as experienced by a young Gaza’s man killed in the war.
The book addresses several issues making references to the Quran. Following Mansour’s travels in search of answers, it raises any number of questions; are humans the same or different in Heaven, are we affected by the baggage we bring with us from the first life, and does an unfulfilled life get fulfilled in Heaven.
Technological advances play a large part in the storytelling, written by this gifted author introducing a plethora of characters and dramatic events.
My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op for the opportunity to read and review this ARC

Heaven' by Abdel Salam Sayyad is an amazing Epic fantasy novel.
It starts off with an emotional note when the main lead 'Mansour' is martyred in Gaza. The story gives a glimpse of Genocide that is happening right now in Gaza. The main plot of this story is the afterlife and what happens in heaven. The author had this brilliant imagination and I was totally involved in it. The description of work culture is stated in the book. Everything is from Mansour's POV.How he unites with his family, his relationship with his wife and then with the maiden in heaven is beautifully described. I am just in awe of the writer's imagination. Though heaven would be entirely different as our human mind can't grasp it. But as a fantasy it was a good read. There is a reunion of Famous personalities from different decade in the book. The mention of Gaza children who died in genocide is emotional.
I did like that before every chapter there were verses from the Quran that gave the context of the chapter. Overall I enjoyed reading this book.
At last I would like to Say May Allah grant us Jannah and give us the best of both worlds.
Thank you Netgalley and Victor publishing co-op for this ARC
