Based on the book description I was expecting something like the YA classics Twilight or Vampire diaries. And it was that, but only for the first third of the book. The first part felt engaging, mystical and fun.
Then we got plot twists that threw me for a loop. There’s no HEA people, please keep that in mind. But more than that, it felt like I was reading two different books instead of one. It wasn’t bad, just didn’t meet my personal expectations. The ending didn’t feel satisfying.
And the story is written in SECOND person. That was my first experience with a narration style like that, can’t say it’s my favorite. But it sure was interesting.
All in all this can be read as a standalone about a teenage girl and how meeting the supernatural world changes her forever, not in the best way. A character study. However it doesn’t fit the typical genre guidelines. At least the genre I thought it would be based on the description (paranormal romance).

I loved the overall concept and idea of the book but the way it was written did throw me off a little, don't get me wrong I still enjoyed reading the book I was just a little confused.
This book was definitely something I don't regret reading though it was just a new way of writing I hadn't yet seen in books. This was a thrilling mix of horror and humor that I wouldn't mind reading a second time!!

I really loved the concept and overall idea behind the book, though the writing style threw me off a bit at times. I still enjoyed it, but there were moments where I felt a little confused.
That said, I definitely don’t regret reading it—it just introduced a style I hadn’t come across before. It’s a thrilling blend of horror and humor, and I wouldn’t mind giving it a second read!
