It's fun to be a hero, but not all the time. Freddy learns the power behind removing his cape and releasing the pressures of being a superhero. Sometimes we need to let go of expectations in order to be happy and free. A cute story about individualism and the power of self-direction.

My 6 year old and I read this together. It was SuperCute reading about SuperFreddy! The story kept my rambunctious kiddo in his seat while I read to him. I would highly recommend this book and would love to read more books like this.

I loved the illustrations in this book! I also like that it sends a message that sometimes it’s okay to do something for you just because it makes you happy and not always do what other people want you to do if it doesn’t please you.
Hollywood-style success is hard for anyone, but it’s even more stressful when you’re a boy. First of all, SuperFreddy has to be super vigilant, saving lives and righting wrongs every day. In addition, with his caped superhero costume, SuperFreddy attracts admirers everywhere he goes. Exhausting! But when SuperFreddy needs to have his costume mended, he discovers what life could be like if he were just Freddy.
Author Luís Amavisca’s story will appeal to young and old, but it’s artist Gusti’s vivid illustrations that really make this picture book. Recommended.
In the interest of full disclosure, I received this book from NetGalley, Publisher Spotlight and NubeOcho in exchange for an honest review.

Cute book that encourages a super hero, save everyone kid to take time to enjoy himself instead of needing to save everyone all the time. Great read!
I'm not really sure what the message of this book is, if there is one. Don't let anyone pressure you into being someone you don't want to be?? Either way, this was a very cute story that was brief but entertaining. Pretty illustrations and not too complicated.
Luis Amavisca soared in with a cute take on a superhero story for the littles. We have a young superhero, SuperFreddy, who goes about his day to day life, saving people, animals, and training so he can be the best superhero that he can be. But when something happens to his suit, he needs to take it in for repairs, and he gets a taste of what it's like when people don't know he's SuperFreddy. Eventually, he will have to make a decision, allowing for time reflection, which (in turn) allows the readers to reflect on their own choices and how they may or may not make a difference.
I can see littles really enjoying this book. This is something that could be read during story time in class or on their own. It has easy to understand language with vibrant and engaging illustrations that are sure to keep them entertained until the very end.
