I've enjoyed this series!
This was a beautiful read about an unfulfilled and stuck young woman who leaves Milton Keynes, England, to help a friend run her cafe in Copenhagen, Denmark.
I loved how she embraced the Hygge lifestyle and chose to prioritize a happy life over a comfortable one. I appreciated her advice to slow down, savour moments, enjoy the simple things, and focus more on living every moment rather than rushing and working too much. I also liked the advice when travelling to think like a local and not a tourist.
I was a little concerned when her old life ‘found’ her in Copenhagen, but was thankful she had enough 'living properly' under her belt that she could verbalize what she wanted with conviction.
I was gifted this copy and was under no obligation to provide a review.
This book was so sweet! I am loving this series! Previously I had read the Floating Amsterdam Bookshop. Having traveled to both Copenhagen AND Amsterdam, it was such a nostalgic, sweet return to those places! I loved the descriptions of the city and food, etc., Milly would have been bananas not to jump at the chance to go to Denmark for a summer. I loved Milly and Theo's chemistry, and felt like it was such a fun read overall!
A sweet romance about finding happiness and second chances. I enjoyed the romance as well as the foodie themes. The descriptions of Copenhagen make me feel like I was there and make we want to visit!

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from Netgalley. I really enjoyed French's last book, so was delighted to be granted an ARC of "The Floating Copenhagen Cafe.'. I loved it. I was immersed in the Danish setting thanks to French's vivid writing and I was invested in Milly's quest to reset her life. Although I wasn't that fussed about her relationship with Theo, as he blew so hot and cold, I was pleased with the ending. Also, Ada was great. I look forward to the next book by this author.

I loved this story . I wanted to swim in the canal and eat all the pastries . The main character escapes to Copenhagen and you follow her re evaluating her life . Perfect and you get romance . I would love to visit the cafe . Read it.

I do love this series! Cute and whimsical but sometimes that is exactlywhat I need. Gorgeous descriptions of floating cafe life and danish hygge. Yeah I really want to hug this series!

I have enjoyed other books by the author and The Floating Copenhagen Café certainly didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed this book, the author's writing was so good that sometimes I forgot that I was reading and was swept away with the characters in Copenhagen. This was the perfect summer read. The story was cute and easy to follow and I loved Milly and Theo's characters and I wanted them to have their happy ending. Plus it was brilliantly paced, had beautiful place settings and a great cast of background characters. Overall a brilliant novel that I can't recommend enough. I'm already eager to see what the author writes next.
💝 Thank you to Avon books, the author Annabelle French and Netgalley for my e arc copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
I was so excited for the third book in this gorgeous series! I devoured both the first and second and loved them, and all I can say is this did not disappoint at all! Absolutely beautiful and cozy story!

Review-
The Floating Copenhagen Cafe is the perfect cozy destination romance when you need an escape. From the cobblestone streets, canals, and delicious food, the author sweeps you away to a magical destination. I am obsessed with the Danish culture of Hygge and loved how Milly embraced this way of living. I loved Milly and Theo and can’t recommend this atmospheric novel enough! This is Book 3 in the Floating Shop series but each book can be read as a standalone. Can’t wait to see what’s next. A gorgeous summer read!
Thank you Avon Books, the author Annabel French and Netgalley for my eARC copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
I absolutely loved this book, so much so I ended up reading it slowly as I didn't want it to end 🤣 I've thoroughly enjoyed being transported to Copenhagen & living a hygge life! I love all things Hygge so it was lovely watching Milly discovering what it meant for her.
This is the third Floating book in the series & all can be read alone. Definitely one for your TBR!

Another amazing story set on the water, once I started I was all in and just wanted to keep reading and learning more about these wonderful characters and what had bought them all to these key points in their lives.
A story full of warmth, love and the desire to live life fully and be truly happy

Adored this! I’ve loved every one in this series (I don’t want them to end!) but they can all be read as stand alone too.
This is a perfect read to get swept away in. The characters were written so vividly and the scenery it was a perfect mix. I enjoy Milly and Theo as characters and the undeniable chemistry. The background characters were also written fantastically and they were all stars of the show.
Overall another wonderful, captivating read from Annabel. Pick this up if you want to be transported to another country but can’t afford the flights! Any 3 of the books in this series are incredibly well written so go and treat yourself!

First of all this book has a beautiful cover. That should catch your attention and then the story will grab you and hold onto you until you reach the last page. I loved Milly and Theo and their relationship but what I loved more was Copenhagen and the exploration of hygge. I loved it and now I want to go there!
Love love loved this book! It is such an absolutely beautiful read and I am sure that this will be the bestseller of the summer!

Firstly thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.
Milly goes to Copenhagen for a break from her life in England, having just broken up with her boyfriend of 4 years. She goes to stay at her friend Ava's apartment, which she shares with Theo. Theo is the co-owner of a cafe with Ava, which needs some help getting customers in. This is a cosy story of how making small changes can lead to big ones. Loved this story and have enjoyed other books by the same author.

Milly is getting over a break up when her friend Ada asks if she wants to come to Copenhagen stay in her room while she goes on a photography shoot and help Theo improve on the floating Cafe.. Does she find a way for him to get more business since the cafe is at the end of the canal. and does she decide to stay when Ada decides she is going to do more photo shoots and won't be using her room all that much. A VERY GOOD READ as are all this author's books.
The cover for this book is absolutely beautiful, the colours really stand out which would make me pick this book up in a shop
Really enjoyed the storyline and loved the characters
Thanks Netgalley for letting me read this book for an honest review
Review of ARC received from publisher and NetGalley.
I really enjoyed this one. Great premise and really well executed. I felt as if I was in Copenhagen myself, exploring and enjoying everything that there was on offer.. I thought the characters were very real with human flaws and weaknesses as well as excellent qualities. A lovely, emotionally satisfying read.

**Book Review – *The Floating Copenhagen Café* by Annabel French**
*The Floating Copenhagen Café* is a breezy, atmospheric destination romance that captures the charm of Copenhagen’s canals while delivering a satisfying story of heartbreak, healing, and unexpected love. Annabel French continues the Floating Shop series with a setting-driven, emotionally engaging instalment that leans into both escapism and slow-burning romance.
Milly is a relatable protagonist whose recent heartbreak gives the story an immediate emotional grounding. Her decision to escape to Denmark for a fresh start feels believable, and her desire for a “no drama” summer adds a touch of irony to the unfolding events. Her journey is less about reinvention in a dramatic sense and more about learning to open herself back up to connection.
The romance between Milly and Theo forms the emotional core of the novel. Their relationship begins with friction and professional tension, gradually developing into a deeper and more vulnerable connection. Theo’s brooding nature contrasts effectively with Milly’s cautious optimism, creating a dynamic that feels both tense and tender as their chemistry builds.
The floating café concept is a standout element, giving the story a distinctive setting that feels both whimsical and grounded. Copenhagen itself is vividly portrayed, with its waterways, seasonal atmosphere, and relaxed European charm enhancing the overall sense of escapism.
While the novel follows familiar romance beats, it distinguishes itself through its strong sense of place and its focus on emotional hesitancy—both characters are shaped by past hurt, and their gradual willingness to trust again adds depth to the narrative.
Annabel French’s writing is light, fluid, and easy to immerse in, balancing romantic tension with reflective moments that explore vulnerability and emotional resilience. The pacing supports the slow evolution of the central relationship while maintaining a steady, engaging flow.
Overall, *The Floating Copenhagen Café* is a warm and escapist read that combines travel romance with heartfelt character development. It’s an ideal choice for readers who enjoy destination settings, slow-burn chemistry, and stories about finding love again after emotional setbacks.
**Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.5/5)**
The Floating Copenhagen Café is a charming, uplifting contemporary novel that combines a beautiful Scandinavian setting with themes of self-discovery, second chances, and finding joy in unexpected places.
The story follows a woman whose summer takes an unexpected turn when she becomes involved with a floating café in Copenhagen. As she settles into a new environment, she finds herself surrounded by a colorful cast of characters, fresh opportunities, and experiences that challenge her to rethink what she truly wants from life.
One of the book's greatest strengths is its setting. The author brings Copenhagen to life through vivid descriptions of its canals, cafés, and vibrant atmosphere. The floating café itself is particularly memorable, providing a unique backdrop that adds warmth and personality to the story. Readers who enjoy armchair travel will find plenty to love here.
The characters are engaging and relatable, each contributing something meaningful to the narrative. The protagonist's personal growth feels authentic, and her journey is both heartwarming and inspiring. The relationships—whether friendships, family connections, or romantic possibilities—develop naturally and add emotional depth without overwhelming the story.
The pacing is gentle and perfect for readers looking for an escapist, feel-good read. While the novel touches on personal challenges and difficult decisions, it maintains an optimistic tone throughout. The balance between emotional moments, humor, and romance is well executed, making it an enjoyable and satisfying read.
Overall, The Floating Copenhagen Café is a delightful summer read filled with charm, hope, and plenty of cozy atmosphere. I would recommend it to fans of contemporary women's fiction, travel-inspired novels, and stories centered on personal growth and new beginnings.
Recommended for readers who enjoy: cozy contemporary fiction, European settings, uplifting character-driven stories, and light romance with plenty of heart. 📚☕🥐
Thank you to Avon books for the advanced copy
Another lovely title in this series.
With a beautiful location and some great characters I soon lost myself in this one.
As the story continues and you learn more about Copenhagen and the way of life there you will be wanting to move there yourself and enjoy the culinary delights on offer.
There’s great character development throughout although I’d have liked a little more on Theo, who is a bit of a closed book - but then that is his character and it works for his part in the story.
There is a lot of alluding to an accident that happened in Milly’s past, and although traumatic, it was not what I was expecting from the build up.
Overall I loved this story and found it hard to put down. As ever, the scenes were set so well that you felt you were living among the characters, enjoying the beautiful scenery and surroundings. I’ve added so many places I’d like to visit to my list, thanks to this wonderful author. So with a great setting, lovely characters, a nice plot and delicious sounding food, what are you waiting for??
Another great addition to this series. I loved all the descriptions of Copenhagen and seeing how they live their lives, made me wish I was there.
I liked the connection between Milly and Theo and my mouth was watering at the descriptions of the pastries he was making and the flavour combinations.
The story was told from Millys POV and it was interesting to watch her taking a hard look at her life and try to work out what would make her happy and to finally put her past behind her to give her the strength to move forward.
Whilst this is part of a series it can be read as a stand alone as it entirely about a new couple and destination just with the canal boat as the recurring theme. I would recommend to anyone who want to escape to a beautiful destination.

Another perfect book from Annabelle. Milly is bored in life and at work. She’s had spectacularly found her boyfriend having sex with a colleague at work.
She jumps at the chance to take a sabbatical and go travel to Copenhagen to help her friends cafe barge to market itself and start making a social media presence.
Milly has a strong socials presence and when she meets Theo co owner of the barge Lykke sparks fly but Theo is snarky at best. Milly is risk averse since an accident in her late teens and her mum wants her to live a simple quiet safe life. Milly had done for years to keep the peace but boredom has kicked in and she falls in love with the Danish way of life and the people.
This is a great read.
Thank you NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I have been transported into the heart of Copenhagen in this story, and really felt as though I travelled there alongside Milly.
As she discovers the various areas of the city I was discovering it too, and could picture it all so clearly. I've been to the city once before so a few bits felt familiar but the rest was a joy to travel around.
Milly is on a sabbatical from work, but has agreed to advise on her best friend Ada's investment in a floating Cafe that is predominately run by Theo. Only Theo hasn't been told and is initially opposed to the idea.
What is very quickly apparent though is that Theo is a wonderful chef who specialises in pastries, open sandwiches and intriguing flavour combinations.
I was in awe of the ideas for the cafe, and of the writing both about the food and the location.
I am really enjoying this series of floating locations, and this one certainly was another excellent addition to the series. I loved the romance, the destination, the food and the characters. It was a lovely summery read.
Thank you to Avon and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily
After discovering her boyfriend with another woman, Milly decides to take a sabbatical from her successful job. Her best friend offers her a place to stay in her canal house in Copenhagen with her house mate, Theo, while her friend is on a photo assignment. Theo is handsome but moody and remote. Despite her strong attraction to him, Milly works with Theo, using her social media skills to help make his less successful cafe more profitable. Along the way, she falls in love with Copenhagen, the hygge lifestyle, and Theo. Will she be able to give up her life in England and break through Theo’s defenses?
This is book three of the Floating Shop series. It is a captivating read with a sweet and enchanting narrative. The book is filled with colorful characters and charming settings, and Copenhagen itself becomes a character in its own right, with vivid descriptions that immerse the reader in the beauty and magic of the city. I did think Milly was a bit annoying, but that did not take away from the charm of the story.
I don’t read a lot of romances, but I am hooked on this series. Yes, they are all a bit formulaic, but it is a beguiling formula. A young woman, dissatisfied with something in her life, reinvents herself. Along the way she travels to a beautiful locale, is successful, and meets a handsome new man who may be a bit difficult at first. I think what I like most about the series, though, is that the author makes the setting really come alive with her striking portrayals. Copenhagen was never on my “must see" list, but now I really want to visit there.
This makes a great escapist read for beach, summer, vacation, or any time. I can’t wait to see where the next installment takes me!

The Floating Copenhagen Cafe by Annabel French is such a cosy, feel-good read. It’s got cute café vibes, charming characters, and made me want to immediately book a trip to Copenhagen and drink fancy hot chocolate by the water.
The story is warm, relaxing, and full of little moments that just make you smile. It’s the perfect book for curling up with on a rainy day. Nothing too dramatic — just wholesome friendships, romance, and lots of cosy atmosphere.
Basically: comfort book = unlocked.
ARC received via NetGalley.
I’d never read anything by Annabel French before but I was drawn to The Floating Copenhagen Cafe because I had a really fun visit to Copenhagen a few years ago. I definitely wasn’t disappointed because the book is partly a love letter to the city and it’s described so beautifully.
Milly and Theo are so cute together it’s no wonder they were mentioned by one of the food reviewers as one of the many highlights of the cafe. They bring out the best in each other.
What I wasn’t expecting was to be so inspired after learning more about hygge alongside Milly. I might not live in a quaint canal house and be able to swim off the deck in the canals after a long day at work or enjoy the delicious pastries served up by Theo in his canal boat cafe but there are lots of ways to savour those tiny moments of joy.
I’ll definitely be reading more by this author.

I mostly enjoyed this book, escaping to the wonderful city of Copenhagen. However, I did find the main character Milly somewhat frustrating and annoying at times and even during the book Milly's best friend Ada was also losing patience! Gorgeous descriptions of Copenhagen and the sumptuous mouthwatering pastries Theo baked for his canal boat café. A little predictable but a good holiday escape read.

Another great read by Annabel, I loved it - felt like I was in Copenhagen
Milly recently found out her boyfriend in the stationary cupboard with a colleague in a compromising position.
She needs a break so takes up the chance to go to Copenhagen to help her friend Ada with her struggling cafe on the canal. Milly jumps at the chance to help her friend but the only problem with her plan is Theo the brooding chef who challenges her at every turn.
As they work together the chemistry between them hots up, Milly wonders if she should take the risk on Theo even though she’s due to leave soon.
When her ex reappears and Theo reacts badly to something else that happens at the same time, is it the end of what they had? Will she fight for her new relationship or go back to her life back home?

The Floating Copenhagen Café was exactly the kind of book I wanted coming into the lighter evenings: gentle, hopeful and full of that dreamy sense of possibility that makes you want to sit outside with a cup of tea and keep reading long after sunset. Knowing I’m heading to Copenhagen later this year made it even more charming; it’s already one of my favourite cities, and this book captures so much of the warmth and calm I associate with it.
The setting is undeniably the star. The canals, little cafés and quiet corners of the city are described with such affection that the whole novel feels almost transportive. I already know I’ll be wandering around later this year half-convinced I might stumble across the floating café itself or spot one of the characters cycling past.
What I appreciated most was the atmosphere: cosy without becoming saccharine, reflective without dragging. The story unfolds at a comfortable pace, letting the relationships breathe naturally, and while it doesn’t reinvent the genre, it doesn’t really need to. It’s the literary equivalent of a warm drink and a blanket: comforting, romantic and quietly uplifting.
A lovely summer read, especially if you’re craving escapism with a real sense of place.
The Floating Copenhagen Café by Annabel French was such a charming and cozy read. I loved the beautiful setting, the warmth between the characters, and the way the story balanced romance with personal growth. It felt comforting and immersive from beginning to end — the perfect book to escape into with a cup of coffee. I did recommend this book on a TikTok.

A cute, easy to read romance. Whilst there are no great surprises with this book, its gentle nature and beautiful setting make it enjoyable to read. All the details of the food and Copenhagen made me want to book a flight there and experience everything I was reading about. If you are looking for nice romance that you can easily dip in and out of, this book is for you.
I applied to review this book as the Copenhagen setting and the cover appealed to me. I had not read anything by this author before.
I found this was a really sweet, feel good romance and found it easy to read.
I enjoyed there being no swearing or sex and felt it was a book that would appeal to all ages.
The best thing about the book for me was the Copenhagen setting. I felt the author did a fabulous job of setting the scene and describing Copenhagen. I could visualise the canals and colourful houses.
I did find the plot slightly predictable but it is a really cosy cute romance and it made me route for Milly and Theo.
I definitely recommend this book and would read other books by this author in the future.
This is the next book in the series but all the books can be read as stand alone books.
MIlly takes a sabbatical after finding her boyfriend in an uncompromising position and escapes to beautiful. Copenhagen to see her best friend Ada. She stays to help out in her cafe working alongside the lovely but quiet Theo.
The setting of the book was beautiful and so descriptive I really felt like I was in Copenhagen sitting outside a car having a coffee and a pastry.
There were very few characters in the book but this only added to the story. MIlly was a great character who was just plodding along in the UK and Tom cheating of her was the best thing that could have happened . It was great to see her flourish and embrace the Hygge lifestyle.
A great summer read which I would recommend.
Thanks to NetGalley, Annabel French and Avon books UK for an advance copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
A nice easy read which I thoroughly enjoyed. The descriptions of Copenhagen and the food on offer in the Cafe made me want to visit and made me hungry reading about them! Cakes, sandwiches, drinks, they all sounded delicious. The concept of Copenhagen being so friendly also appealed to me as I hate the feeling in big cities of lack of friendliness and individuality.
Milly did annoy me at times. As others have said it felt like there was a big build up to details of "the accident" and then it was brushed over very quickly and she didn't even mention it to Theo. I also didn't feel that sharing personal details like break-up's on what is effectively a business social media account was appropriate. If I was following her for financial tips I wouldn't want to know that she'd split up from her boyfriend.
I also couldn't help but feel frustrated at the end of the book about what happened to her suitcase; she left it outside on the cobbles and then it was never mentioned again!
I'd certainly look for other books from the author as I did really enjoy it.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers and author for allowing me to read and review a preview copy.

A solid, easy read for those who love a cozy romance with a story of self-discovery mixed in! We meet Millie, who after a breakup, gets a chance to go to Copenhagen and help revive a struggling cafe, she grabs it with both hands and its just the beginning of her life changing adventure. She meets Theo, the hunky owner of the floating cafe. And we follow along to see if they can work together to save the cafe, while getting over past relationships.
I enjoyed the books cozy 'hygge' atmosphere and I thought it was truly good for the soul. It was a gentle reminder to prioritise what brings me joy and to go after those things! Anabel French has given us a great reminder through Millie & Theo that even when things may feel broken, there's always hope and maybe, just maybe, things might be even better than before.
Lovely easy read and good story to follow, this is the story of Milly who finds her long time boyfriend cheating on her, she goes to stay with her friend Ada who lives in Copenhagen and meets Theo who has a cafe boat. It’s a story of change and determination with of course a little bit of love.
Really enjoyed it as the 3rd book in The Floating Shop series.
My thanks as always to NetGalley and Publosher Avon Books and Author for the chance of the early read.

Annabel French is onto a winning formula with her ‘floating’ romances. First there was The Floating Amsterdam Flower Shop, then The Floating Venice Bookshop and now we have more of the same loveliness in Copenhagen.
After a break-up, Milly goes to help her friend, Ada, with her struggling café in Copenhagen. But Ada’s business partner and chef, Theo, is far from welcoming. The handsome, talented baker resents Milly’s interference. But Milly’s business ideas have merit and, because this is a romance, Milly and Theo have chemistry. We see their will-they-won’t-they relationship thwarted by memories of previous heartache.
The author captures the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Copenhagen. We see Milly embrace the hygge lifestyle and sample local food and culture.
A delight from start to finish.
This is an independent review of an early copy. Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity.
Upon publication I will post my review on my blog, Amazon and GoodReads.
Milly heads to Copenhagen to stay at her best friend's place after she catches her boyfriend cheating on her. Ava asks her to help out with marketing her roommate, Theo's, restaurant, which she's invested in. She can stay at her place while she's traveling for her work.
I enjoyed this story and loved her experience in embracing the hygge lifestyle in Denmark. I loved all the characters, Ava, Theo, and Milly
This story had:
- using social media to market a restaurant in Copenhagen
- found family
- second chance romance
- embracing the hygge lifestyle
- reinventing herself
This is the 3rd in a series, but they all serve as stand-alone. I really want to go to Denmark now and embrace the hygge lifestyle.
Thanks@avonbooksuk, @netgalley, and the author for this arc.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to arc read this book. I absolutely devoured it loved every second of it. One of my top reads!
The Floating Copenhagen Cafe by Annabel French
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book 3 in the Floating Shop series, each book is a complete standalone with no crossovers so they can be read in any order, and I recommend reading them all.
Another 5 star read, it's such a cute cosy romance 😍 it did make me want to read more about hygge.
I received a gifted Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Thank you Harper Collins and NetGalley.
This is my honest review.
A really lovely read from Annabel French!
Having discovered that her relationship is not wat she thought, Milly takes a sabbatical and goes to visit her friend in Copenhagen, to help her out with a failing floating cafe business but whilst she's there, she discovered hygge and why the danish way of life has worked wonders for her friend...combined with her friend's very attractive business partner, will Milly want to go back to her life as she knew it?!
I've read a few of French's 'floating' series and this is by far my fave, it really has a bit of a message as well as largely just being quite a big hug in a book. The setting is fun and well explored, the description of the pastries will have your mouth watering and the evolution of the characters and relationships are quite compulsive to read!
Characters are likeable, the story flows well.... It's a good escapist read!

I absolutely love this series of books. Although they are completely standard alone they all make you want to up sticks ans settle down in the beautiful cities they are set in. The author puts so much thought into the setting and characters. I loved the developing relationship between Milly and Theo and at times wanted to give Theo a little shake to make him see what he was missing.
Fabulous story and I've been researching Copenhagen on the back of it.

If you know me, you know I am absolutely obsessed with Scandinavian life and culture. Add in a floating café, and I am instantly sold! I don’t often pick up ARCs from authors I’m unfamiliar with, especially in the romance genre, but this premise and setting were too much to resist. I was not disappointed - this story absolutely delighted me! It perfectly captures the hygge aspects I love about Danish culture, leaning into how the protagonist tackles applying that mindful, cozy concept to her own life. Just like every time I immerse myself in a Scandinavian setting, I found myself contemplating how I could bring some of that intentional, slow way of life into my own day-to-day. It’s a charming story that left me dreaming of a trip of my own and rethinking how I spend my own time. If you love stories that feel like a warm hug, featuring deep cultural immersion and a bit of romance, this is for you. I will definitely be continuing with the rest of the Floating Shop series!
Thanks to Annabel French, Avon Books, and NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for a review.
Her partners affair, and being caught in the stationery cupboard wasn’t great, gives Millie the courage to take a sabbatical. A heart beat later these is in bright and lively Copenhagen, waitressing on a barge and soaking up as much as she can from the world and sounds around her. She explores the town and falls in love with hygge and takes notes for her future in her lottle notebook. She keeps her social media going through and starts a romance with chef Theo. Milly thinks she is bruised by her ex but Theo seems to have more skeletons in his past that he just can’t seem to get over.
This is a fun read, full of life on a barge and working in Copenhagen - full of joy.

The Floating Copenhagen Café by Annabel French is such a nice comforting read. It was just delightful. The direction of the story is easy to spot early on but that’s part of its charm. After a run of fast paced thrillers this was exactly the kind of gentle, feel good escape I needed. I loved The Floating Venice Bookshop, so I went in with high hopes and they were completely met. It was warm, uplifting and full of heart. One of my favourite quotes from the book ‘It’s knowing what’s good for your soul and prioritising it. I think we all need to do this more
This was a lovely, easy to read kind of book. A heart warming escapist read that transports you off to wonderful Copenhagen to embrace the Danish hygge lifestyle and I for one was totally swept along in the fuzzy cute kinda vibes that were going on. I have been to Copenhagen once and feel like I need to go back after this! This would make a perfect holiday read.
Milly who works in a boring finance job has been re-evaluating her life choices. One day she discovers her boyfriend has been cheating on her with another woman in her office. We see how this recent heartbreak is just the push she needs to actually make changes to her life. Her best friend, Ada, gives her an opportunity to travel over to Copenhagen, live on her canal boat and also help out with her struggling cafe on the canal, that she so happens to co-own with Theo, the gorgeous but broody chef, who questions Milly at every turn. Oh and Milly will also be living on the canal boat with Theo! It was a cute set up.
The relationship between Milly and Theo is lovely. As they work together their sizzling attraction towards each other grows. But their hearts are guarded. Will they give into the obvious connections between them and pursue a relationship or not. It was easy to like both characters and fun to see how things progressed between them.
The setting was captivating. I really enjoyed all the lovely descriptions of Copenhagen, and also the relaxed, joyful, happy vibes that the people in that wonderful city adopt into their lives. It had a live for the moment feel about it all. I felt like I was wandering around the places with Milly. It was evocative and dreamy. Life by the the canal, working on a cafe with all the floaty water, coffee, pastries, it all sounds wonderful.
This was a gentle, cute romance, in a glorious setting. It was a lovely comfortable book to read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you to Avon and NetGalley for the chance to read this summery feel good book.
This is a really positive, uplifting, feel good book that talks about finding enjoyment in the small things in life. It is a gentle read and the perfect book to read in the summer months!

A delightful light read about Milly who has left the UK for Copenhagen and Theo, the chef on the canal boat cafe where she gets a job. This has all the happy tropes but with the added delight of Copenhagen, And a floating cafe. This is a fun series which has seen each installment in a different city and on a different sort of canal boat. Each one feels special. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good read.

i got a little emotional when i saw this book. all of this series from Annabel has managed to come into my life at exactly the moment i needed them. and this was no different. and i mean come on. look at that cover. how can you not fall in love even before you've begun.i do love it when beautiful books get their covers just right too. and Annabel's is chefs kiss every single time.
i felt for and was rooting for Milly as soon as we begun. having heartbreak like that was horrid. and you could totally see her heartbreak and reason why.
when she is offered the chance to get away from it all to help her friend in Copenhagen and her lovely but struggling canal Cafe she couldn't think of a better time and a better place to go.
the one catch is the cafe chef, Theo. hes challenging her on everything. but the worst and best thing is he might also be challenging the walls she has now built around her heart.
as the two work together they truly do start to work together. the banter, that fierce chemistry was all there. but also then that level up, that level deeper and more heartwarming was met with plenty too. i was smiling through every interaction.
Annabel really brings you into her stories. i truly felt like i could fill my senses with the place. that i could look around and see what the characters were up to and the places they were walking and living amongst. she manages to bring her stories to life and is one of my favourite authors for this reason and many many others.
it was so easy to sit and want to just snuggle in and keep reading.
