Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this arc.
This story was just so unexpected in the best possible way! Emotional heartbreak, wholesome, trauma and it had me in all of my feels. I loved the MCs Nina and Mav and they stories had me hooked.
This was a very cute well written contemporary romance. I love the cover and color scheme. The plot was great and the characters were well fleshed out.
I really enjoyed this cowboy romance book. It kinda felt like a mystery for me and things were interesting honestly. I definitely recommend it.
Thank you to Sloane Fletcher, HarperCollins 360, and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of Night Rider in exchange for an honest review.
Night Rider completely stole my heart! I cannot believe this book is not all over my TikTok FYP because it deserves so much hype.
I loved that this story was told through dual POV. The third person narration worked so well and made it easy to connect deeply with both Nina and Maverick. Being able to understand what each character was thinking and feeling made their emotional journey even more impactful.
Maverick and his daughter, Poppy, were everything. Poppy brought so much heart to this story, and I adored every scene she was in. One of my favorite parts of the book was watching Nina protect and care for Poppy. Those moments were incredibly touching and added so much emotional depth to the story.
I also have to mention Markus. Nina's bestie was such a standout character, and I loved that we got a few chapters from his perspective. It was such a unique addition that made the world feel richer and the supporting cast feel just as important as the main characters. Getting a chapter from Sierra's POV was another great surprise. I wish all books had this.
The cowboy ranch setting was absolutely perfect. Combined with Nina's journey as she tries to move forward from a traumatic event, this story had so many of the elements I love in a romance. And Maverick singing Run by George Strait? That scene will live rent free in my head forever.
If you enjoy cowboy romance, emotional family dynamics, protective main characters, lovable side characters, and plenty of ranch life charm, I highly recommend giving Night Rider a try. I already have preordered this book as well as the second in the series. I can't wait to add them to my shelf.

I’ve been trying to get more into romance books, and I think this was a perfect book to start with. It was sweet and heartwarming and I wish I could’ve stayed with these characters longer!
Night rider was the perfect mix of heavy and wholesome. It was emotional, both heartbreakingly real and deeply hopeful. One of the aspects that stood out the most to me was the way that Sloane handled Nina's experience after reporting a sexual assault. The fears, doubts, and internal struggles she faced felt authentic and painfully relatable. The fear of not being believed, of being called dramatic, of having your experience questioned... those fears hit home in a way that can for most women. Sloane broached this deeply sensitive topic with care, telling a story that acknowledges the complexity of trauma without allowing it to define Nina entirely. This story shows that you can have gone through the most traumatic experience of your life and continue to have it affect you, but at the same time find joy in life when you least expect it. The relationship between Nina and Maverick was everything I wanted it to be. It's pure, wholesome, and deep. They've both been hurt before, and it's not easy falling in love while your head hasn't quite caught up to your heart. This book made me feel the entire spectrum of emotions, from anger and heartbreak to comfort and joy, and I'd do it all over again. Beautifully done!
SLOANE!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!! Rarely am I truly at a loss of words when I sit down to write a review, but I am today! 4.5/5 stars this book was unreal!!!!!! I went into this knowing obviously there were very heavy topics, but trusting it would all turn out in the end and it did. This story truly had a little bit of everything and showed such a transformational journey of healing and powering through the hardest challenges people should never have to go through. I was sobbing by then end, the love story between Nina and Mav was one for the ages, so beautiful!!! I was immediately hooked from the first chapter and quickly had a hard time putting it down and wish I could re read it again already! I truly felt transported to Hunt Ranch and felt like I was among the characters throughout the book- I look forward to reading the next book in the series! Thank you so much net galley and harper for the ARC!

I didn’t really have any expectations reading Night Rider by Sloane Fletcher. I received an ARC for Blue Devil Woman and wanted to read this before I started that and I am so glad I did!
I am not normally into romantic suspense because everything just seems so dramatic/over the top, but I really liked Nina and Mac story.
Nina was assaulted in her Hollywood Hills home and goes to Hunt Ranch to heal. There she meets Mav, a single dad dealing with his own trauma. One early morning horse lesson turns into Nina wanting to help with the horses all the time and spending more time with Mav. After they find out she has been sleeping in her bathtub, she moves into the main house with Mav, his daughter and his sister.
I really liked Fletchers’ writing. Her characters were authentic and well fleshed out. I was worried about the multiple POVs, but it worked well and helped flesh everyone out.
Nina is running away from what happened to her and trying to find a way to heal without being an inconvenience to anyone, including her best friend, which I found totally relatable. I like how Barbie was used to show the parallels in their trauma.
“I’m not telling you all this to make you feel guilty. I’m telling you so that you understand she’s having a very normal response. She only needs to work through it.”
Mav is still working through his own trauma of his ex-fiancé leaving him and his daughter Poppy to continue her career. Despite that, he is so kind and patient with Nina from the moment he meets her. He is also protective AF and we love to see that from our rugged cowboys 🥰
Poppy was adorable and perfectly written! She was sassy and curious while being her dad’s hype woman! I say this for every book with a kid, they bring something special to these books. Poppy’s personality reminded me of my own nieces, kind and chaotic. I also loved the relationship between Poppy and Nina. Sometimes it feels like the FMC immediately goes into stepmother mode or they don’t interact at all. Fletcher had them co-existing without Nina immediately feeling like she wanted to have Mav’s babies/be a mom. Nina was doing little things for Poppy and her protective nature come from her traumatic past, not to give the MMC something to obsess over.
“Nobody does emotions like kids. They don’t regulate their own, and they don’t judge other people for having or expressing them.”
I cannot wait for Sierra’s book! I loved her from the moment she entered the page, especially her scenes with Markus or Poppy. She is the aunt, sister and friend I hope I am.
Markus was also amazing! He is the best friend we all hope for. Super sassy, supportive and loyal to a fault.
Markus only raised both his brows in Nina’s direction, said, ‘Girl.’ ‘I know,’ Nina replied. ‘If I don’t have ovaries, I just grew a pair,’ he muttered. But he turned back to Poppy. ‘Lady, I like your outfit.’ Poppy looked down at her white dress and brown cowgirl boots. ‘It’s my favourite.’ She shook her long hair back, said, ‘I dressed myself.’ ‘Okay, diva. You have style.’ He made a twirling gesture with his finger, and when Poppy instinctually twirled, Markus clapped his hands. ‘Gorgeous!’
Sierra came to him. She nabbed his wine glass from his hand and took a huge gulp. ‘Will you marry me?’ Markus laughed. ‘Honey, if we didn’t bat for the same team, I’d cart you off to Vegas tomorrow.’
For the romance, it felt genuine to me. Mav and Nina kept showing up for each other and I loved how Mav kept saying this is happening 🥹. Yes, it was only a week and they were head over heals but she was just assaulted, he is lonely (and hot) and the setting is romantic… though I do wish we got to see Wranglers Clearing… maybe in the next book 👀
“No. It wouldn’t have mattered how much younger you were; this is happening anyway. But I would have guessed there was closer to a decade between us.”
Kimberly A, Bookseller
I was on the edge the entire time, and couldn't put it down. I appreciate that all the characters have depth, and a strong voice. I appreciate that I could still expect a happy ending even with characters dealing with heavy issues.

Thank you, Netgalley!
As a small town romance lover, I was super excited when I got an arc of this book. The cover is what drew me in and the fact that this is a small town romance with a cowboy love interest??? 10/10 no notes. I think my favorite type of romance books are small-town, interconnected standalones so this was a huge hit for me. I loved the romance in this - it was so heartfelt and emotional. And I especially love that this is the first book in a new series!!! I had a blast reading this and I can't wait to read the next one in the series!
Night Rider is a dark, atmospheric romance packed with tension, danger, and undeniable chemistry. Fletcher creates a captivating world where secrets lurk beneath the surface and every decision carries consequences. The combination of suspense and emotional intensity makes this an addictive page-turner.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the chance to read and review this ARC!
I really liked this book. The characters were great and it was both funny, playful, and emotional all at once. I even found myself almost crying toward the end. A yearning cowboy is always a win in my book.
I will say, a big content warning for SA (not by the MMC of course)

Nina escapes to the luxurious resort at Hunt Ranch to recover from a traumatic attack in her Hollywood Hills home. Maverick Hunt runs the ranch with his sister, Sierra (who leads book two of the series!).
In Night Rider we follow our characters as they heal and adjust and fight and fall in love. This book is romantic suspense, which usually isn't my favorite but I was drawn in by the ranch setting and found myself wrapped up in a story with the right amount of twists, humor, surprises, spice, and healing. The characters were so interesting. They had depth and their own lives. I would read a book just following Nina's BFF Markus around as he goes about his days. There was a lot of story in 384 pages and I would definitely recommend this book.
So happy this is a Book 1 because I enjoyed the way Sloane told the story! She wrote it so the characters get into your heart even though they're flawed. I cared about them and the outcomes. The spice factor was written so well. Overall, a fun and flirty novel. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Thank you to Harper 360 | HQ Digital and NetGalley for this ARC!
Night Rider was definitely a surprising book. I thought it was going one way but it went the complete other way and I’m not super mad at that. I really love when books surprise you.
The book is broken into 3 parts. I quite enjoyed the first part. It did take me a bit to get into it but once I did, I really loved where the story was going.
I felt like part 2 almost abandoned some aspects of part 1. Part 1 set us up with Nina who suffered trauma and introduced a rescue horse (Barbie) who also endured some trauma. It seemed like they would both heal each other but it’s mentioned a couple of times and then you don’t get much else. Just some throw away lines of like “Nina has done well with Barbie”.
Part 3 I feel doesn’t really wrap much up. I guess you can assume what will happen. I’m hoping we get a continuation with another book because I definitely felt like I didn’t get closure. It seemed kind of rushed.
As for the storyline, I liked it. It was good. Both main characters had complexities but I did feel like the romance happened super quick and almost out of nowhere.
I did appreciate how Sloane Fletcher handled the assault and the aftermath of it all. I feel like it was handled with respect and fairly true to those raw emotions.
It was a good read and a good storyline but I definitely wanted more.

Nina is a movie star and an Instagrammer. She has just been attacked and is now hiding at a Cowboy Ranch owned by Mav. Mav is a single dad and does all he can to keep his ranch going and to protect his loved ones. Try as they both will, the attraction is there, and the feelings can not be denied. Along the way, though, the "bad guy" always comes back! But Mav will never let anyone hurt his girls.
This Cowboy Romance is much more than a romance read. It is one you should know, as it contains multiple trigger warnings. I did enjoy this book, but I felt that about 30% or more of it was the story of Nina's assault. After a while, I was getting a little overwhelmed by reading about this. I wanted romance! Once it got back on track, it got me more invested.
I will warn you ... if you at all have any trigger warnings of assault ... this is NOT the book for you! It also talks about the loss of an infant and parents.
THANK YOU NETGALLEY for the ARC COPY of this book. ALL opinions remain my own.
Night Rider by Sloane Fletcher is one of those stories that settles into your chest and lingers there long after you’ve closed the book, like dust on a sun-warmed saddle you didn’t notice collecting.
Nina Keller arrives at Hunt Ranch carrying the kind of silence that isn’t peaceful at all. She’s trying to outrun trauma, the kind that reshapes how you move through the world, and what she finds instead is a place that doesn’t demand she perform healing on schedule. Just space. Breathing room. A chance to exist without expectation.
Maverick Hunt isn’t a flashy kind of hero. He’s steady in a way that feels almost disarming. A single dad, a ranch owner, and a man whose care shows up in actions long before it ever becomes words. The connection between him and Nina builds slowly, not as instant rescue, but as a careful rebuilding of trust—earned moment by moment, glance by glance, boundary by respected boundary.
One of the most powerful parts of this book is how Nina’s recovery is centered on her own terms. Her journey isn’t rushed or romanticized. It’s quiet, uneven, sometimes painful, but always hers. The ranch, the routine, and the Hunt family become a grounding force, not a cure-all. Especially the way Poppy and the wider family bring warmth into spaces Nina didn’t even realize had gone cold.
The romance itself leans tender rather than loud. There’s a softness to Maverick’s presence that never slips into pressure, and that makes every step forward between them feel meaningful. It’s less about being “saved” and more about being seen clearly while learning how to stand again.
When Nina’s past eventually catches up, the story shifts into a more protective, high-stakes space, but even then, the emotional core stays the same: choice, safety, and who she wants beside her when everything gets loud again.
If there’s one thread running through the whole book, it’s that healing isn’t linear and love isn’t forceful—it’s consistent. Sometimes it looks like a cowboy who keeps showing up, even when he’s not asked to fix anything at all.

I knew from the start this was going to be a 5 star read for me.
The writing perfection.
The way the mmc handles her trauma with such care and compassion totally golden retriever kind gentle.

Night Rider was not what I was expecting at all. I know the description mentions an assault and healing, but so do so many other fun little rom-coms. I was beyond pleasantly surprised to see the intensity and care with which these topics were handled. Despite the heavy topics and realistic retelling of them, Fletcher was able to balance that horror with the support, kindness, and light of the surrounding characters and the protagonists determination to heal and grow. Books that feature these topics are often arduous to read, bringing up a lot of unwanted and unresolved emotions. Night Rider managed to make the reading experience cathartic and I will hold this novel dear to my heart for years to come.

What a sweet, tragic love story. I am so in love with the Hint Ranch and its characters. They are well suited to each other. I read the books out of order but it was nice that even doing it backwards I was able to make sense of it all.
Although the tragedy in this and the next book are so well written I’m angered for fictional characters, the banter and whit of each character is also so well written I often chuckled out loud.

"A hundred reasons to run. A cowboy to make her stay". Cowboys and suspenseful twisty story? Sign me up! Nina is on the run after a harrowing attack and she ends up in the same town as single dad cowboy Maverick (give me a better cowboy name, I dare you). This was heartbreaking, trauma filled, but just the slightest amount of cringe with how hard and fast Mav fell. I still enjoyed it and had a good time though!
Thank you @netgalley and the publisher for this ARC!
If you love sweet cowboy romances, Maverick is going to steal your heart. He’s kind, dependable, a devoted single dad, and the owner of a beautiful ranch, basically the definition of a book boyfriend. Nina arrives at the ranch hoping to heal after a traumatic experience, and watching her slowly rebuild herself alongside Maverick made this story especially emotional. Their relationship develops with patience, warmth, and genuine care, making the romance feel incredibly authentic. The book also thoughtfully explores the lasting effects of sexual assault, so be sure to check the content warnings. With a lovable supporting cast and plenty of heartfelt moments, this was an emotional, rewarding read.

An insta-love story that will completely warm your heart. Maverick was beautifully written and has officially earned a spot on my book boyfriend list. Nina is running from her past, but somehow ends up finding the future she never imagined. This story has a way of healing your soul while still tackling difficult topics with such care. A phenomenal read, that I will definitely pick up again.

I have a soft spot for cowboy romance, but this gave me so much more than just a romance! Sloane Fletcher's Night Rider is a rich story about survival, trust, and finding love at your lowest point. The book deals with the difficult and heavy topic of sexual assault with such care, creating real characters that deal with the aftermath of the assault. The characters feel real and multidimensional and I was immediately drawn in. I couldn't wait to see how Nina and Mav's story would unfold as I felt immediately attached to them.
I was quickly obsessed with this book and can't wait to read Sierra and Benji's story!
Love, love, love! This was such a neat concept with a starlet hiding out to escape Hollywood and some pretty traumatic events. Loved the fact that Nina wasn’t a cowgirl, but fit so well into the lifestyle at Hunt Ranch Resort. The character development was flawless, and I went immediately into Sierra’s story, the sequel to this book!
“You know what I want. I’m just waiting until you’re ready to trust me with your heart.” - Maverick Hunt - a swoon-worthy cowboy for the history books!
A perfect blend of plot, romance and suspense. Fletcher knows how to weave a story that holds your attention. Nina and Mav both have guarded hearts, but from their first meeting, they feel a pull neither has ever experienced. Nina is running from a recent trauma, and Maverick expertly navigates their blossoming feelings while allowing Nina to lead the way.
Night Rider held my attention, made me laugh, and had a perfect blend of secondary characters. I can’t wait to continue the series!
Thank you to NetGalley, Harper360, and the author for the opportunity to review this ARC! Highly recommend!
Night Rider by Sloane Fletcher was an all around great book. It was full of emotion from start to finish. I have respect for how the author wrote this story. When handling such sensitive material, being written in the wrong way can really make reading a negative experience but this was written well. I am giving it 4 stars. I feel like the multiple parts of the book left stuff behind from the parts before, and the ending felt rushed. That did not stop me from reading and I would read the continuation of the Hunt Ranch Series. Thank you to NetGalley and Harper360 for the ARC, all opinions are my own.
Night Rider was an emotional small-town romance filled with heart, healing, and undeniable chemistry. Sloane Fletcher created characters I couldn’t help but root for, and the story balanced tender moments with plenty of swoon. A heartfelt read that kept me invested from beginning to end.

Thank you for the ARC!
This book had me hooked from the start.
I loved Mav's relationship with his sister and daughter. I'm a sucker for a single dad, so of course that hit the spot. When Nina arrives at the ranch after her attack and he has no idea who she is (because of course he's not online), he treats her just right, like he would a scared horse. The romance and suspenseful aspects were nicely done.
This was my first book by Sloane Fletcher and I'll definitely be reading more!
One of my top reads for 2026 hands down! This one wills tick with me forever for many reasons. Single dad COWBOY. Hollywood starlet finding her place. Small town romance. Lots of banter, angst, and soul searching while figuring out where you belong, and are loved. AND, with an amazingly well written and addicting mystery storyline. I could not put this one down, and read in one sitting. Do check trigger warnings before reading.
Maverick is a dream of a perfect man in so many ways. He is protective, but also pushes Nina out of her comfort zone to challenge her fears. Nina felt like a best friend who just needed someone to stand in her corner and cheer her on. And sweet little Poppy…she made the story so much better! And of course, you can’t have small town and romance without a little George Strait added in! I have listened to that song a few times since finishing this book, and will every time I hear it now thinking about Maverick and Nina 🤍 Can’t wait for the next one in the series to read about Benji and Sierra’s story!
Thank you to Harper Collins for the opportunity to enjoy this story!

The opening of this book immediately draws you in, and what a ride it was!
You get a sweet, patient, protective cowboy who has made it his personal mission to look out for the traumatized woman that shows up at his ranch’s resort after being assaulted in her home.
Maverick is everything you’d want from a cowboy romance, and Nina is so brave during her journey through recovery. This is a beautiful story full of suspense, grief, trauma, and resilience; definitely read the trigger warnings before going in!

Honestly, I picked up this book because of the adorable cover and the synopsis, expecting a fun, lighthearted cowboy romance for the summer. What I wasn't expecting was how deeply I'd fall in love with these characters or how emotional their journeys would make me!!
One of my favorite things about reading is discovering layered, authentic characters with stories that shape who they are, and then watching them find someone who not only complements them but also supports, loves, and fights for them every step of the way.
Nina was such a beautifully written character. Her resilience and strength shined through in the kindness she showed others, even while navigating her own challenges. I also loved her friendship with Markus. Considering they're both in such a flashy, celebrity-driven industry, their bond felt incredibly genuine and grounded. It was written so naturally that I felt like I was part of their friendship right alongside them.
And Mav... what an absolute sweetheart!! His patience, unwavering support, and the way he stood by Nina through every decision completely stole my heart. He was everything she needed without ever trying to overshadow her.
This book tackled some incredibly heavy topics with so much care, compassion, and thoughtfulness. I really must commend the author for balancing those deeper themes with such a hopeful, heartwarming romance. I finished this story loving every character (and I seriously cannot wait for Sierra and Benji... iykyk 😉) and already excited to pick up whatever this author writes next!!

Nina arrives at Hunt Ranch carrying the weight of her past and looking for a fresh start after a traumatic experience. Watching her slowly heal, rediscover herself, and learn to trust again was such a beautiful journey.
Then there’s Maverick…
The ultimate book boyfriend. 🤠❤️
He’s patient, kind, protective, and never tries to rush Nina before she’s ready. Instead, he gives her the space and support she needs while quietly showing her what it feels like to be truly cared for.
And don’t even get me started on Poppy. 🥹 She completely stole every scene she was in and added so much warmth and heart to the story. The relationship that develops between Nina and Poppy made this book even more emotional.
The ranch setting was absolutely perfect. Between the peaceful countryside, horseback riding, and small-town charm, it felt like the perfect place for healing and new beginnings.
The romance is a slow burn done right. Every glance, every quiet conversation, and every small moment between Nina and Maverick builds into something incredibly special. Their relationship felt genuine, healthy, and full of mutual respect.
I also loved that this story balances romance with deeper themes of healing, overcoming trauma, and finding the courage to embrace a future you never imagined.
By the end, I had the biggest smile on my face and didn’t want to leave these characters behind.
If you’re looking for an emotional cowboy romance with an incredible single dad, found family, slow-burn chemistry, and a heroine finding her strength again, Night Rider deserves a spot on your TBR. 🤠❤️🌅✨
