This book has it all: colorful and real characters, a thriller plot, and a little romance for good measure. There is violence and torture, but it is not too gory. There is love and sex, but it is not too graphic. I had to stay up late to finish it, because the suspense was too much for me to put it down. I loved it! |

This book is the first I've read by Seth Coker and I was totally captivated. I loved the development of the characters and the way the whole book just flowed. It was a very hard book to put down once I started reading it. The book was full of intrigue, suspense and just the right amount of romance. |

I really enjoyed Salty Sky by Seth Coker. It starts off in 1993, I believe, and then jumps to present day. It has all the excitement that you could want in a thriller. It is action packed, and keeps you on your toes. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends! The only real problem that I found was the font size on the e-copy. The title of the book, and what year it was (before and after the prologue) was too large to be legible. It is still a very good for a debut book. I will be looking forward for more books from this author. . |

This book is the first I've read by Seth Coker and I was totally captivated, reading it in one day. Coker does a great job of character development, the storyline flows smoothly, and by the end the reader is cheering on the cowboy. Cale, a widower, retired from the DEA after twenty years as a pilot. On most of the missions he stayed with the helicopter, but on one he was caught in a firefight and killed the brother of a Columbian druglord, Pablo Escobar. Now he flies for himself, operating a private charter service on the North Carolina coast. A bachelor party brings friends to town and while they're out on his boat they meet another boating party that includes Ashley, a traveling nurse on vacation with two other nurses. The book chronicles events, musings and ponderings as the two groups interact, Francisco Escobar puts into action a plan for revenge served cold against Cale and a hurricane moves ashore. This book is worth a read if only for the perspective on the war on drugs. But there is so much more, making it a must read. Copy received in return for an honest review.
