In this follow-up to the Fairbairn Girls, readers catch up with the family at Christmas 1913. Lady Rothbury’s daughter, Diana has invited everyone to the estate for the holiday week. Laura, now a success in the dress designer world is joined by her daughter Caroline, and soon the other five women and their families all arrive. They look forward to good fortune and happiness as 1914 rings in, but World War I looms in the not so distant future. The women will have to face some of the most difficult trials of their lives – death, affairs, broken hearts and an uncertain future. This can be read as a stand alone. If you loved Downtown Abby, you’ll love this book
