This book is adorable with pictures of several kinds of dachshunds. The facts were so interesting I've been sharing them with my friends.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

Seen as a taster for the full set of eight books in this series, we get a quick look at the dachshund from a very young point of view – the intended reader will be little taller than the dog concerned, given the simplicity of the information here. But we still manage to learn what they look like, where they came from, what the traditional job that gave them their name was – and a little about how they behave. So simplicity wins out, in this cute and pictorial lesson. A strong four stars, and I see little reason to doubt the rest of the set earning similar.

"Dachshunds" was a quick and informative children's book about the wonderful and beloved sausage dog! Good pictures, and nice legible text for learning readers. I personally was smiling the whole way through because I've been lucky enough to have a dachshund as a pet, and they are quirky and delightful, so reading some of their factoids was a good time. From their appearance to their unique characteristics, the book covers the breed in a way that's not overwhelming for a younger audience while doing a great job explaining the basics. I learned of a sport called Earthdog, which I had never heard of before but made a note to look up because it sounds so cool! Sending your trained dachshunds into tunnels--wow! Great book for curious kiddos and dog lovers!

My kids loved to read this and learn about their puppy. It was very easy for them at 11 years and 7 years to understand and they adored the pictures of the dogs inside too.
