A kingdom, a princess and two step-siblings.
A fine recipe for drama and drama one gets. Right of the bat one finds out the siblings are trying to kill princess Stella... Simply because they want the kingdom and the king left most of it to Stella. They try to poison her and kill her, but nothing seems to work. After a demon kills her close confidant Stella walks the halls at night crawling on her hands and feet bend over backwards. No one questions it. Soon after she herself finds out a Parasite has been inhabiting her body and protecting her from the poison and the other attempts? Will Stella survive or can the step siblings kill her?

A very interesting concept, bloody, dark and despite that very humorous. The art style is pretty and the story intriguing. I am definitely on edge for the next volume!

Comedy, Parasite, Action, Royal Intrigues and Drama, a very interesting mix!

Stella must Die, is the wildest isekai, I’ve ever read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s gruesome and dark in places but for this type of story, it definitely needs to be. The exorcist like moments, did make me laugh quite a bit. Definitely a manga I will keep following as I want to see how the story develops with Gutty protecting Stella.

This is a review I’m struggling with as honestly how do I do this with any value without spoilers?

One f I love about Japanese media (manga, anime, ect) is you can’t get complacent. You think “oh this is just a isekai about a fantasy princess and a secret assassin/knight”….and then you turn a page and it turns to…”what in the name of Panda Pants is this?” I went in thinking this probably was going to become a light romance ….. and now I don’t even know where this is going to go. It’s a very interesting mix of genres. There is a lot of comedy, adventure, a fantasy setting and then you get some light horror elements. It’s got a very early plot twist. Biggest note on the plot is maybe don’t eat while reading.

On a technical note the art is extremely impressive. Again the comedy, suspense and horror elements are reflected in the art without the artist fundamentally changing their art style. I didn’t see this often and it shows remarkable talent. I especially love the fantasy setting and there is more detailed backgrounds than most. The lettering is great the speech bubbles easy to assign (my personal pet peeve when badly done). The translation solid with a stumble or two but nothing that would dissuade me from recommending the title.

But be warned this is going to get weird in a way manga and anime fans understand too well. If you plan to read this as your first isekai story my advice is to book mark but definitely come back after you read a few. It I think will help you get the humour of subverted expectations.
