Description
Phones are perfect for sending messages, snapping photos, and most importantly, talking to your friends. One thing Su-ae didn’t account for, however, was that her phone would be able to talk back.
Su-ae discovers that Jellypop, a flip phone stored in her locker, is sentient—and Jellypop has a lot to say about Su-ae’s love life. High school romances are never easy, and Su-ae’s relationship with her nonchalant boyfriend seems to be going nowhere.
Lacking the charisma of her step-sister Ra-im is one thing, but seeing the growing sparks between her and Minu just adds salt to injury. It’s up to Jellypop to help Su-ae navigate the peaks and pits of teenage love, and finally get the high school love story she deserves!
This volume collects episodes 1 to 10 of the sensational WEBTOON comic with over 260 million reads, Operation: True Love.

Operation True love? More like Operation give me more! This manga will have you hooked from the very first panel. The artwork is stunning, and the characters are even better! I devoured this one in under two hours, and highly recommend it for those who are either new to this type of thing, or returning fans

Operation: True Love Vol. 1 is a refreshing mix of humor and slow-burn romance that grabs readers from the very first page. The story follows Su-ae as she navigates her chaotic world alongside her less-than-loyal boyfriend, Minu.
This first volume lays a solid foundation with engaging characters and witty dialogue. Su-ae finds herself reluctantly obsessed with what the universe—and a mysterious jellypop phone—calls “love points.” With none to her name, she must devise a plan to earn them, setting the stage for a story that’s both charming and full of intrigue. The pacing is excellent, keeping the narrative from ever feeling repetitive or predictable.
The art style is vibrant and expressive, perfectly matching the tone of the story. Facial expressions and visual gags add layers to the humor, making even small moments memorable. The storytelling cleverly blends familiar romance tropes with unexpected twists, keeping readers constantly on their toes.
Overall, Operation: True Love Vol. 1 is an enjoyable start for anyone seeking a lighthearted yet compelling webtoon romance. It’s a perfect pick for fans of slow-burn love stories, clever humor, and adventures where love feels like both a mission and a game.
I’m not even going to pretend I’m better than this. I requested this ARC because of the cover. Yes, I judge books by their cover. Yes, I have zero shame about it. The expressive illustrations and soft color palette are so pretty I just can’t say no.
The plot is entertaining in that dramatic, slightly unhinged way that I absolutely thrive on. Messy relationships. Emotional chaos. Questionable decisions. Also, I have so many questions about that Jellypop phone. I need to know more about it.
Now, Su-ae. I kinda like her. I do. But I also want to wake her tf up. The bar is in HELL. Why are we still tolerating this sorry excuse of a boyfriend??? I was sitting there like please… PLEASE stand up. And if I were Su-ae, I would definitely kick Ra-im back to the streets. No second thoughts.
Eunhyeok, did you know that showing emotions is NOT a crime? I like my men a little mysterious, a little morally questionable, sure. But this is emotional hide-and-seek. Stop giving my girl mixed signals before I personally intervene. But do I still like him? Unfortunately, yes. Maybe.
I haven’t read this on Webtoon before, but I just KNOW that Dohwa is about to be important. There’s something there. I’m seated and ready for whatever chaos he brings in the next volume.
Minu and Ra-im. You will not be missed. Exit stage left. ShiBYE.
Overall, this was a dramatic and entertaining read. I’m invested, I’m curious, and I will absolutely be continuing.

Thank you to Wattpad Webtoon Book Group and NetGalley for the ARC!
I am obsessed with the art, the characters are so darn beautiful. It truly has a great plot, I love the concept of seeing how much love a person will receive by points.
Her boyfriend needed a chancleta thrown at him. I cannot believe him. I can't wait to see where this goes.
OMG!!
The way I was clicking the next page, and it wasn’t doing anything… Only to find out that was the LAST PAGE?! I was literally screaminggg.
This was soooo UGH!! I just wanna fight Minu so bad, and scream at Su-Ae to STAND UP.
Ra-Im also had meeee raging. I felt all types of ways w/ everyone, Eunhyeok is my fave though 🫶🏽
I love a broody, chill MMC. And the banter? I love it. You can totally tell he’s a sweetie too like 😭🤍
And then the phone situation?!
I’m still so curious about that, esp since the intro in the beginning— Ahhhh!!!!
I guess we’re gonna have to wait and find it
I’m also curious to know the relationship between the other female classmates ‘cause?
I feel like they’re friends, but also maybe not? Idk lol. But either way, THAT TWIST had me gagged.
And then the way it ended up on top of that—
ABSOLUTELY DIABOLICAL. I def feel like that upped my interest even more ‘cause what’s tea 👀
I need the next volume REAL BAD.
