Description

For fans of magical realism and morally complex characters. A slightly sassy, whimsical rom-com with a cozy slice-of-life atmosphere throughout the pages.

Rhiannon, a 22-year-old flower shop owner, moved to the bustling city of Hyvia three years ago with one goal in mind— to find someone like her. A witch. A wizard. Anyone who could help her understand her magic and perhaps uncover the mystery behind her aunt's disappearance.

But instead, she meets Leon Montgomery, a powerful billionaire who unknowingly carries a deadly curse.

The Mark of a Reaper is a forbidden magic. Once cast, it sets off a chain of misfortunes that ends in the victim's death. Staying out of it seems wise. After all, warning a wealthy stranger that he's been cursed would likely get her labelled as a crazy lunatic—or worse, served with a restraining order. It's the 21st century, for goodness's sake, people do not believe witches walk among them.

But the Mark of a Reaper is the first sign of magic Rhiannon has encountered in Hyvia in three years. A proof that others like her indeed reside in this city.

So, she does the one thing she shouldn't.

She forces her way into Leon's life, determined to prove to him that magic is real, save him from a curse designed to kill, and uncover the secret that possibly ties his fate to her own.

Just a heads-up for new readers: this is a cozy, whimsical slice-of-life rom/com 🌸✨. It’s not a power fantasy, not a hero’s journey, and there’s no training arc or an epic final boss battle to defeat the villain. The story is about everyday magic, cute character moments, and reflection (with darker themes undertone). If you’re expecting epic battles, this isn’t the story for you—but if you love cozy, whimsical story, cute romance, sassy FMC, and charming everyday magic you might really enjoy it! 😊

🌸✨ Review: Into the Witch’s Garden ✨🌸

If you love cozy stories with a touch of magic, soft romance, and enchanting garden vibes… this one might be for you 🫶🏻

We follow Rhiannon, a 22-year-old who knows she has magic but doesn’t fully understand it yet. In her search for answers (and someone like her), she ends up in a place where magic supposedly doesn’t exist… or at least that’s what it seems 👀

There, she meets Leon, a man trapped under a deadly curse, and their story slowly unfolds into a mix of mystery, romance, and self-discovery 💫

💐 What I loved:
– The atmosphere: super cozy, almost like a quiet fairytale filled with flowers and magic
– The romance: soft and slow, perfect if you enjoy gentle relationship development
– It’s a light, easy read—great for getting out of a reading slump

🌿 Things to keep in mind:
– It’s a short story, so the worldbuilding isn’t very deep
– If you’re looking for high action or intense fantasy, this might feel a bit simple

✨ Overall, it’s a sweet, magical, and comforting read—perfect for a calm afternoon with a cup of coffee ☕🌸

Rihannon is a green witch, who moves to a big city in order to find other witches or better yet, her aunt. Luck is not on her side with this, but she does meet a handsome widow, and the only problem with the guy is the deathly curse someone has put on him. Rihannon has not seen any signs of magic since she opened her flower shop, and this might just be a lead she was looking for.

I really enjoyed this story. The pacing was nice, the characters were lovable and the writing style resonated with me. With a book this long it is only natural, that some aspects can’t be very detailed, otherwise the whole story would be stuffy, so in some cases the author choose to tell instead of showing.

What I especially liked, was the romance-ratio. The witch-chasing part was so interesting to me, it would have been a waste to overwhelm the story with more romantic scenes. This way the cozyness of the book did not feel disturbed.
I would have loved to read more from Leon’s POV, his grief and sense of responsibility have the potential to be explored more, especially at the beginning.

Thank you to Jeka B.C. and NetGalley for the ARC!

You can give me an adorable cozy whimsical book about a green witch and kind hearted man any day and I’ll be one happy little book nerd 😌😌

Into the witches garden is cute and cozy with a hint of mystery. It was a nice fast read that still gave you all of the details you needed and gives cozy calm vibes despite the MFC and MMC hunting for the witch or wizard who placed a death curse on the MMC, the villain was obvious from the moment the character was introduced but I’m not even mad about it 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s not a battle of the fantasy characters or anything crazy like that, it’s just a nice whimsical story of a green witch and her life. If that’s the sort of thing you’re into I definitely recommend! This non spicy book was the perfect ‘palate cleanser’ equivalent that is sometimes needed in between all of the dark romance or suspense/thriller books.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Victory editing for the arc! 🌸

5/5!! This was a super cute read, I had such a fun time reading it and kept finding myself wanting to get back to it and read more! The main characters were super likeable and easy to root for and I really liked seeing the growth in their interactions throughout the book! I loved the magic elements and that the actual plot was never overshadowed by the romance which despite being a shorter book was still very much a slow burn which I absolutely loved as it’s definitely my favourite kind. I really liked the fact there were no big battles etc. since it made this feel like such a comfort read and one I can definitely see myself coming back to when I want a cozy feel good read that still has a lot of depth. The author included deeper topics too which in my opinion were really well explored and incorporated into the overall story super well. I loved the ending so much and definitely didn’t see some of the twists and links between characters coming! I’d love to see more of these characters in future books and super excited for the authors future releases (one in particular but I won’t spoil anything!)

If you’re looking for a cute whimsical read then I definitely recommend this book!
