Description
Friendship is tough in the Stone Age, especially when your best friend is part-Water Spirit…
A storm is coming...
Ever since Little Meg became Sunhealer's Shadow, she's been learning to understand the ways of the Spirits. So when a storm sweeps through her village, she knows they are angry. Worse still, they are angry with her for keeping back the bones she was meant to offer up to them. The bones of her dead parents.
As the rain clears, Meg discovers a girl washed up on the seashore. She speaks in a strange language and scratches pictures of distant lands in the sand. Despite the suspicious mutterings of the villagers, the pair forge an unlikely friendship. But if Meg wants to appease the Spirits and save her people, she must return the girl to her home.
Their journey will take them across the wild sea, to a place that exists only in legends. But will Meg survive to tell the tale?

What a wonderful story! Set in the neolithic age, it tells the story of Little Meg, the Sunhealer's shadow (apprentice). It is a story about differences in beliefs and how those differences breed contempt and distrust within a society.
During an offering ceremony, Little Meg withholds fragments of her parents' fingerbones. And for this reason, she believes she's the cause when the weather turns violent for days on end.
During a night of violent storms a castaway is washed ashore speaking a foreign tongue no one understood. This castaway is viewed as a bad omen because of the continuous bad weather.
Thus begins the story of Little Meg the Sunhealer's shadow and Kalø, the girl washed up on the shores. How they fight discrimination and distrust and how they go on an adventure in search of Kalø's island home of Doggala Ø.
The story is loosely based on archeological studies of the neolithic age and can be considered a soft introduction to archeology for those interested in ancient human prehistory.
An enjoyable adventure story which includes strong friendships, plot twists, treachery and found family!
