A very suspenseful murder investigation! I loved it! The structure of the novel was very compelling, alternating each chapter with one of the plots increasing the tension as well as the suspense. I enjoyed the characters, each with his/her own ways, faults and qualities. I could relate to all (not the murderer, though!). Even though I guessed who the murderer was, I really had to wait for the conclusion to be sure. A great read, as usual for Heidi Amsick's books. Can't wait for the next book in the series to see how the characters' relationships develop...
I received a digital copy of this novel from NetGalley and I have voluntarily written an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this arc.

This book was such a wild crazy FUN ride! It was great. I enjoyed every bit of this book. Page-tuner, fast paced, murder, great characters with great stories. I did not realize this is a series so I will be picking the other books because Heidi Amsinck's writing style is great.

This is such a good series, set in Denmark, featuring journalist Jensen, who is now a mother and DI Jungerson. They are a very odd pairing and interesting characters with some good interactions throughout. I enjoyed the twisty plotting as much as the backstory to Jensen's early life with her mother Marion. The story is filled with secrets, intrigue and tension, building up to a surprising ending and I highly recommend. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

This is the second book I have read in the Jensen Thriller series and I am more determined than ever to go back to the beginning and read the ones I have missed.

Jensen is an investigative reporter for one of Copenhagen’s newspapers, but being out on maternity leave doesn’t stop her from getting involved in a case that takes many turns and in some moments turns personal for her.

I love the characters, their interactions and their backstories, but I really can relate to Jensen. Secrets, hidden for years, find their way out into the open and lives will never be the same.

Plus the ending, we’ll let me just say it’s a devastating revelation.

I'm sorry but I guessed who the murder was in the very first chapter. But this didn't make the book any different in that they had so many different scenarios to choose from. With the cast of characters so great that we had different takes on what to expect as things progressed. We had Detective Inspector Henrik Jungersen, Pathologist David Goldschmidt, Andreas Lund who owned the apartment that the body was found in, Jensen who was a crime reporter for Dagbladet, we had Ea who was Jensen's baby, Karo who was Karolina a pseudonym, and Brix who was a famous author. The story starts out with a busted pipe flooding an apartment owned by Andreas Lund with a body behind a wall, he isn't in but sailing on his yacht. Then a woman is raped and is brutally beaten, Detective Sergeant Sara Funder has a theory of the rapist. Then another woman is raped and killed. The story progresses and Henrik has had an affair with Jensen in the past but his wife leaves him. He makes himself available to his children but his wife leaves him. Jensen is met at her paper with a new man. And Karo saves Jensen when she's being beaten by the killer. It's a believable story and is interesting from all the points of views.
