This book was not at all what I thought it would be but it was great anyways. I had assumed from the title and cover (which I love btw) that it was a book about self-esteem. Then from the first couple of pages, I thought it was going to focus on careers and goals. However, the real purpose of the book was really on showing kids that they can do great things even before they're grown. I love that the author showed how even the child who was receiving canned goods could help contribute to the food drive. The pictures were beautiful and I could definitely see elementary age children enjoying the story.

Sometimes adults are so focused on helping kids figure out what they are good at and what they want to be, we forget to help them see what they can do now and that they matter. This book is a perfect example of that, and Rosie's dad has a great answer, the Food Bank. As a person that has helped run a food pantry, I love this answer. I use to take my daughter with me to help each week and she loved it. What am inspiring book!
