What a great YA crime thriller debut for Jennifer Pearson!
The red herrings, the plot twists, the drama - I genuinely had no idea which character could be the k!ller in this suspenseful whodunnit for the majority of the book. Sure, I had my suspicions, but I think any reader will agree that Jennifer really knows how to make you doubt your suspicions and stay in a state of confusion.
I felt so much for poor Stevie - she just wants to know why her superstar sister was unalived and she’s being gaslit and discouraged by the adults at every corner. Although, I do love the friendship she finds along the way! There is an absolutely hilarious side character who will remain unnamed to avoid giving away any plot, but they brought so much humour and lightness to balance the darker aspects of the book.
Although it’s a YA book, I think so many adults will also enjoy this read, especially if they love a good thriller with a side of humour.
Thank you to Jennifer Pearson, Simon & Schuster and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an ARC of Drop Dead Famous! I will be eagerly awaiting Jennifer’s next YA crime thriller.

This one completely pulled me in from the very first page 🎬✨
The opening felt so cinematic, I could picture every scene playing out in my head like a movie. I was hooked trying to piece everything together and honestly never knew who to trust. The mix of fame, secrets and suspense worked so well and kept me guessing the entire time 👏🏻
Stevie absolutely had main character energy and I loved following her story. She was sharp, messy, determined and just so fun to read about. Also… I genuinely forgot this was YA because the mystery felt so addictive and fast paced.
I saw someone describe this as “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder for Swifties” and honestly? That’s exactly the vibe 🫶🏻🎤

I really enjoyed Drop Dead Famous, it reminded me a lot of A Good Girls Guide to Murder with a different setting. I loved the characters, especially Colby - she is so sassy!!
The story was told through the eyes of Stevie Baker who started to investigate her famous sisters death, which occurs during her homecoming tour. There were so many threads and links through the family and outside the family that made this a really interesting story to follow and unravel.
I'd love to read more of this author!

Drop dead famous is a fantastic YA murder mystery.
When a famous singer is found dead on stage her sister conducts her own investigation into who killed her.
There were twists and secrets galore with the investigation opening up a whole can of worms. I enjoyed the characters and liked seeing how it all played out
