Description
A woman and her ghost roommate investigate their most personal case yet in Olivia Blacke’s The Key to a Killer, the next book in the Anthony Award winning Ruby and Cordelia Mysteries.
When Ruby Young discovered that her Boston apartment was haunted, she did what any reasonable person would do: befriend the ghost. Their relationship overcame a shaky start—Cordelia Graves never wanted a roommate in life, she certainly didn’t want one in death. After working together to solve a few murders, the two are close friends, but there’s a lingering question neither of them have been able to answer: what led to Cordelia’s death?
Lately things have been adding up that suggest foul play. And when Cordelia’s memories of that day start to come back, the roommates can’t ignore it anymore: Cordelia was murdered. Ruby and Cordelia are going to have to piece together what Cordelia’s final days looked like—otherwise a killer could go free.

I absolutely love reading this Ruby and Cordelia series. This third book in the series was very good. So many possible suspects and unexpected twists. I think this book was my favorite in this series.

The Key to a Killer by Olivia Blacke was a fun and engaging cozy mystery that kept me guessing from beginning to end. Ruby and Cordelia make a fantastic investigative duo, and their chemistry adds plenty of charm and humor to the story.
The mystery itself was well-paced, with enough clues and red herrings to keep things interesting without becoming confusing. I enjoyed following along as the pieces slowly came together, and the small-town atmosphere gave the book a cozy, inviting feel. The supporting characters added depth to the story and made the setting feel lively and believable.
While I was able to predict a few details before the reveal, the journey was entertaining enough that it didn’t take away from my enjoyment. Olivia Blacke does a great job balancing mystery, character development, and lighthearted moments.
Overall, this was an enjoyable read with likable characters, a solid mystery, and plenty of cozy charm. I’m looking forward to spending more time with Ruby and Cordelia in future books. A solid 4-star read for cozy mystery fans.
