Description
Lana thinks she has everything under control—until she wakes up alone on a stained mattress, hands and feet tied.
To the world, she’s the perfect, dutiful heiress of Vittorio d’Angelo. Climbing the corporate ladder in her father’s company, she does everything to please him and make him proud. But behind closed doors, Lana plots to expose the truth: his business is a front for human trafficking.
With the help of those who hate Vittorio most, she’s ready to do whatever it takes to tear apart his entire organization. Their plan is about to fall into place. Only Vittorio begins acting differently, and she can sense something is wrong.
In No One Was There, Lana is thrown into the horrors she meant to end and must figure out how to escape and who to trust.
Surviving will have a new meaning.

Human trafficking - insidious and more prevalent than many realize. Intense, emotional, and visceral - edge of your seat in it's intensity, detail, and realism. You will not put this down, and you may have to remind yourself to breath!

I don't have words for this utterly stunning debut novel. Grabbed from page one and did NOT let go, even after the last page. Twists, turns, drama, chaos and violence took place through the entire book and it was AMAZING.
Take note of the trigger warnings for those who have them. There is graphic detail that may disturb some readers. No animal abuse present.
Run, don't walk, to get this debut novel because you will NOT regret it. My jaw is still on the ground!

Dark, intense, and emotionally gripping, *No One Was There* pulls readers into a brutal world of secrets, betrayal, and survival. Andrea Conner creates a tense atmosphere from the very first chapter, blending psychological suspense with high-stakes danger in a way that’s hard to put down. Lana’s fight for truth and survival feels raw and haunting, making this a heavy but unforgettable thriller for readers who enjoy dark, emotionally charged stories.

ARC Review: This books first chapters introduce the main characters and we get the general outline of all the illegal businesses. In the next few chapters, the author quickens the pace and trust me when I say that it doesn't slow down until the last page of the book. The plot was intriguing as well as spine-chilling, the characters varied from innocent to pure evil. Some parts of the book were really difficult to get through although at the same time I couldn't put it down, that's how much I was invested in Lana's life. I needed to know if victims will find peace and justice. I needed to know what will happen to Lana and who could she really trust. And what fate lied ahead of Vittorio.
