Description
Mr Crump doesn't like holidays or cheer of any kind. And he especially detests children. Can anyone warm Crump's old, cold heart? A darkly comic story for fans of the Grinch and Tim Burton.
Everyone avoids curmudgeonly Mr Crump, but they don't know the old man has a secret. He LOVES teddy bears. When trick-or-treaters accidentally uncover his cuddly collection, Mr Crump feels something strange... Could it be that Mr Crump is not so heartless, after all?

Cute story with lovely illustrations. If you like characters who show growth, then pick this book up and read it aloud to a child. I would recommend this to librarians for their school collection.

Mr Crump, the Heartless Grump is as sweet as I thought it was going to be and more. It is a beautiful reminder on how we should treat others with kindness because we don't know where there are coming from.
Mr. Crump is a mean old man that people are afraid of. Like the evil old man antagonists of other stories, he doesn't like people, children, or even animals. He has no qualms on being rude or disliked; he does it and seems to have no remorse. However, there's more to Mr. Crump that meets the eyes. If you want to know what it is, you will have to read to find out.
The illustrations were wonderful. They were like be wrapped up in an autumn hug, and I found myself lingering on the beautiful imagery that was crafted in these pages. These are the sort of images that will delight littles and make them enjoy this story even more. It was touching, and I can see it becoming a fall favorite by littles, guardians, and teachers alike.

This book was really cute. I thought the illustrations were gorgeous, and I loved how grinchy Mr. Crump was at the beginning. It reminded me a lot of the Grinch, except that Mr. Crump was never as mean at the Grinch when he was alone. I thought the story was sweet, and think it was a nice little tale on changing for the better, and not judging people before getting to know them, as Mr. Crump thought people would laugh at him for having a collection of teddy bears.

This book was very sweet, and I loved the illustrations so much. An easy read, Mr Crump’s character reminds us that people are not always as they seem, and that kindness is always a good option. The book is just the right length to appeal to a variety of ages, and the illustrations are absolutely clever-I loved the garden cauliflower!

Super cute read for all ages. Teaches us the classic don’t judge a book by its cover. But also be kind to one another, someone was mean to Mr. Crump, that dominoes him to being grumpy and mean to others. Thanks to NetGalley for arc

This a cute and uplifting book for children. It shows that although someone may appear as if they don’t care or are just “grumpy” that that’s not always the case. Sometimes it just takes someone to care for them or to show them that they are loved. And you’re especially loved if you’re loved by a child.

This was a short, sweet story of a grumpy old man. The illustrations were wonderful and the storyline is simple enough for small children to understand and grasp while understanding the underlying theme of kindness toward others. A very nice read aloud for ages 4-7.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Mr. Crump is a grump. He doesn't like anyone or anything, as he wasn't shown love as a child. One day, the neighborhood kids show him what love is, and Mr. Crump is no longer the neighborhood grump.

What a heartfelt and touching story. Sometimes the people who seem the coldest or most unkind are often the ones who have never truly experienced love themselves. This book beautifully shows how kindness and love can change someone in unexpected ways. I read it with my 4- and 8-year-old granddaughters, and they absolutely loved the ending. It sparked such a sweet conversation afterward about compassion and caring for others.
