Small-time swindler Lewis Dibble has never been to Pelagic Shores, but when his estranged uncle goes missing on the island Lewis is summoned by Security Services, and he embarks on the magical journey of a lifetime. Unfortunately, it's that sleight-of-hand, keep-your-eye-on-the-lady kind of magic, and his lifetime is about to be cut short.

Fourteen-year-old adventurer Casey Duck and her twin brother, Tracy, are out to prove their father was murdered by The-Woman-Who-Is-Technically-Their-Stepmother, and they're convinced the mysterious guidebook Lewis received from his uncle holds the key to proving it.

Together they bicker and bumble their way through the island's theme park, following the guidebook's clues, and they stumble upon one of the universe's oldest secrets. But their discovery triggers a planetwide catastrophe, and to stop it they must face down an improbable hurricane, a rogue AI, and a shapeshifting reptilian extraterrestrial or else, for Earth 93 at least, there probably won't be a Vast Huge Stunningly Gorgeous Tomorrow.
