Description
A beautiful princess. A charming adventurer. And a cursed treasure.
Phineas Coulter, the Viscount Waring, lives for adventure in distant lands. When family obligation requires his return to London, he unexpectedly finds himself entangled in a mystery of danger…and desire. To save a friend, he must unravel the secrets of a priceless Indian artifact while protecting it from those desperate to claim it. At the center of it all is a woman of fair and mythic beauty who could be the key to an ancient legend and a tragic curse. He’s certain she has the answers he needs, if he could just get her to trust him…
Born of a revered and illustrious family, Lady Eleanor Fairchild is expected to do great things. For a woman in her position, that means she must marry very very well. Despite her renowned beauty and undeniable wealth, a frustrating affliction has resulted in her being deemed undesirable in the marriage market. When the dashing Lord Waring initiates a flirtation, she’s certain his interest won’t last…even though he seems to truly see her as no one else ever has. While he encourages her to explore her deepest desires, his possession of a mythical necklace of love and murder has her questioning her very purpose in the world.

I love a GrumpsxSunshine story and this did not disapoint. I liked that a main character was potrayed with anxiety and she had growth in her self as the story went on (also glad it highlighted that growth is not always linear).
I love a good historical romance and the adventure got me with this one! This take on a grumpy x sunshine was whimsical and such a fun read. I loved the touch into Indian culture and the representation of anxiety and panic attacks. Really well done!
When a mysterious artifact draws danger to their doorstep, a reluctant viscount must choose between a life of adventure and the woman who has captured his heart.
If you want some yearning from your men... look no further than Lord Waring.
Lady Eleanor absolutely abhors the social season. She would rather be a wallflower where no one notices her than be mocked and judged for her social failings. Just when she thinks that Lord Waring would finally give up on his advances towards her, she learns of a mysterious item that might be tied to her. She must decide if the risk of her heart is worth it for an adventure of a lifetime.
I loved Eleanor as a character, her social avoidance and her anxiety during the social season was really well written. The depiction of anxiety with the physical symptoms really made me feel like I was experiencing it with her. I loved how strong and brave she was to overcome her fears and continuing to move forward.

An intriguing mystery.
Phineas is an adventurer, always traveling for new sights and experiences
He is a Viscount returning to London to handle his affairs when he receives an unusual package from a friend.
He encounters Eleanor who is shy and awkward in social situations but he likes her honesty and bravery.
Her family’s past is intertwined with the package. Dangerous elements and threats surround them.
Romance with sensual kisses and steamy scenes brings them closer.
Their love seems destined.
Unique story with fine epilogue.
Wonderful!
This was such a fun book. It had romance and adventure, plus great setting and characters too. I thought the plot was creative and fun. A curse and treasure, count me in! I also really liked the romance here. It's paced perfectly and will make you swoon. Their chemistry was hot and definitely showed in the steamier moments.
This was a blast from start to finish. Definitely recommend!
