A fantastic novel from start to finish. I literally could not put it down - and read well into the early morning! The plot was well thought out, it was well written and I fell in love with the story and characters. They became close friends, I love Diedre's strength, her bravery and confidence in her Dragon Knight. An original story that I loved and can not wait to read the next in this series.

I loved Angus, "he let out a moan of pleasure and closed his eyes. “When ye are naked beneath me, then I shall.” Grabbing her hands, he brought her around and seated her in his lap. His desire grew as he placed a hand under her gown and stroked her soft thigh." I enjoyed this book I loved Angus.

If you want to be swept away from all the modern day noise, then Dragon Knight's Shield is your ticket. Ms Morgan weaves a powerful story of a modern day woman, Deidre Flanagan who is an expert in black belt and handling a sword. She uses her skills to write believable novels, but all that changes when she takes a trip to Scotland for her birthday. Wandering into the mists, she is transported through time to 1209 and comes face to face with Angus MacKay. Angus is a tortured Highlander believing that he failed his family when he couldn't protect his sister and she died in his arms. He throws off the mantle of Laird and travels abroad trying to control the guilt that threatens to tear him apart. Hearing that evil is once again stalking his homeland, he travels back to Scotland where he literally stumbles upon Deidre.

Ms. Morgan skillfully guides the reader through the highs and the pitfalls of Deidre trying to adjust to medieval Scotland, of her growing attraction to Angus and preparing to face the evil druid Lachlan. Angus's story is one of forgiveness, redemption and finally love. The story captures the reader and I loved the ancient Celtic history Ms. Morgan uses throughout the story. I couldn't put it down. Fans of Scottish history will definitely enjoy this book. Highly recommended.

Angus is the oldest of his family and as far as he is concerned he is responsible for the death of his sister and the downfall of the Dragon Knights. He is approached for help in ending the evil that is plaguing the land, the druid Lachlan and he agrees because he has a score to settle with Lachlan. This occurs in the 13th century.

Deirdre is a mystery writer in the year 2015. She goes on a vacation to Ireland and Scotland and while in Scotland gets pulled through the mist by Angus. Neither knows what to make of each other but there is an attraction there for sure. Deirdre soon learns that it is fate that brings her here.

Can she and Angus fight the evil? Can she help Angus realize what he needs to do to win over the evil?

I absolutely loved this book!!

Deirdre is a no nonsense woman. She knows martial arts, sword and knife play....after all, a writer must do her research. She is a true warrior in Angus" eyes. She had been hurt 10 years ago in a relationship and has avoided getting involved with anyone. Angus is a true example of her true love....handsome, sexy, smart, a warrior, caring and yes...hardheaded.

Angus feels Deirdre is too good for his as he isn't worth her after he has failed his family and clan. She needs to make him understand what happened was not his fault, and his family still love him.

I loved that Deirdre would have given her life for him as much as he would for her.

I am sure I will backtrack and read the other brothers stories. It is sure to be a treat.

This is an awesome read if you like time travel romance. It pulls you right in and doesn't let you go until the end!

Thank you for the opportunity to read this book!

As a Bard of old, this author weaves a tale of a knight's quest, family, redemption, and the journey to love. Deidre's journey leads her across to Scotland and Ireland and across time having a dragon shield with the guidance of the Fae. Angus must reconcile his past to reunite with his family and find his destiny. Find a comfortable chair and settle in for this knight's tale.

Deirdre Flanagan a famed writer is unprepared for the next chapter in her life. While visiting Scotland she steps through the mist and ends up in a skirmish alongside a Highlander. Angus MacKay is the leader of the Dragon Knights who he has failed his family and brought shame on his clan. Angus the eldest of the Dragon Knights desperately needs redemption; he is the one who must regain their full magic to defeat the evil Druid. Deirdre is a very strong woman, trained in martial arts, who knows how to wield a sword who becomes Angus’s captive. The book is filled with twists and turns as two worlds collide and Deirdre’s world is turned upside down by the sexy warrior highlander who’s filled with guilt and finds himself unworthy to lead his clan. Angus must face his demons from his past as the fire dragon roars to claim the one woman fate has destined for him. I loved this book Mary Morgan writes a great love story filled with danger, adventure, suspense and magic dragons.

I enjoyed the "Dragon Knight's Shield" by Mary Morgan. Deirdre lives in San Francisco in 2015 and just turned 30. She is an author and receives a gift from her friends to take some time off and go to Ireland and Scotland.
Angus is a Dragon Knight warrior in the 13th century. He has been wandering around away from his family because of a tragedy. He ends up being recruited by other legendary warriors and learns that he is supposed to finish his journey, but he balks at this information.
Deirdre and Angus are fated for each other and she ends up in the 13th century with him. They are both interested in each other, but dance around it quite a bit. This book is number four in a series and I have only read one of the books prior to this one. I was a little lost when Angus meets up with his brothers and meets their new wives.
While I liked the story, the love scenes weren't as passionate as I like. The time travel was believable and the book kept my interest.
