Sun City celebrates the famous desert retirement community that puts the gold in the “golden years.” Here in Arizona, on 14.6 square miles of energy and enthusiasm, the cliché about age being just a number is happily obvious, as residents from 55 into their 90s and beyond spend their days line-dancing with friends, taking yoga classes, playing pickleball, throwing a bowl on the pottery wheel, or rounding the bases at a softball game, often to the rah-rah-rahs of the Sun City Poms cheerleading squad. Hundreds of photographs, lit with joy, bring this one-of-a-kind place to life, and brief but intimate stories of men and women photographer Kendrick Brinson has met and spent time with over the years show how the citizens of Sun City really are living their best lives.
