Seductive Reasoning

Wow ! The suspense in this book had me on an edge through out. Del is an hot and sexy ex special force officer incharge of the special task force team in Hawaii, and has to find a serial killer, who is raping and killing women. Emma has been hired as an consultant to help the TFH. She is a socially awkward geek and an adorable heroine. This was a captivating book with its superb suspense and sizzling attraction between Del and Emma. I also enjoyed the camaraderie between the team members of TFH, and I look forward to reading their stories.

What a fantastic book to read! Engaging characters and enjoyable flowing plot lines that keep you entertained from beginning to end. This author really knows how to suck you in and make you want to stay.

I enjoyed this book. I liked the plot. The story was well-written with good dialogue.

A great start to a new series. Plus I love how it was connected to the Harmless series. Beautiful Hawaii, sexy men and women who know how to use a 2X4 what more can you ask for.

I don’t read a lot of romantic suspense because all too often the women characters are portrayed as weak and unable to take care of themselves or need to be saved and Melissa Schroeder just changed all that in the first book in her Task Force Hawaii series, Seductive Reasoning. Two people with a tumultuous past must put aside their differences and work together to catch a killer and as their attraction grows it becomes impossible to deny. At times suspenseful and messed up and at others humorous and sexy, Seductive Reasoning is smartly written and extremely engaging.

With a suspected serial killer on the loose as the head of Task Force Hawaii, Martin “Del” Delano must call in Emma Taylor, the genius contractor he’s unable to forget. Wow, these two do not get off on the right foot but the sexual tension flowing between them is unmistakable. It was interesting watching these two play off one another, but what I really loved is that Emma didn’t cut Del any slack. She was smart, sassy and strong. She was also brilliant and her ability to see all sides of a crime made her invaluable to the team. I enjoyed how the very large and in charge Del struggled when Emma was around and had trouble expressing himself in her presence. Yet he also realized he needed her not only for her ability to help catch the twisted killer they were chasing, but also in his life.

I found their personal relationship very interesting with Del really wanted something serious and Emma feeling she wasn’t able to give that to him. Watching them open up to each other and learning to trust each other and what they had was very satisfying as were their many intimate moments together.

As this was the first book in the series, we were given a good overview of the entire Task Force Hawaii team and while they all played a big part in this story; the romance wasn’t overshadowed and we saw how important they all are to each other.

Entertaining, emotional and rich with vivid storytelling Seductive Reasoning is a fantastic start to a new series.

Great start for this new series. Melissa Schroeder always gives you a great read . Easy to like main characters and some crazy side kick characters to go with it. I enjoyed this story.

Del and Emma seem to be an unlikely pair, but you can't help what the heart wants. While this is the beginning of a spin off series, you don't need to read the others in order to enjoy this book. Del leads a special task force in Hawaii for higher profile crimes that occur locally. Emma has a special personality and tends to look at things differently than most others. Emma occasionally works under contract when her unique brand of research and investigating are needed. Del has no choice to bring Emma into their current investigation when a beloved missing person turns up murdered after being tortured for quite some time. While it takes the entire team to catch the perpetrator, Del and Emma must navigate their mutual attraction all the while believing the other would rather not have the other around. I really enjoyed the balance of mystery/suspense and romance. The secondary characters were just as intriguing as the H and h. I'm looking forward to reading their stories in the future. I recommend this read. It took me away and I didn't want to put it down.

Del is a Task Force team leader. Emma is a genius, somewhere on the Autism spectrum, computer and gamer geek. I liked that Del “got” Emma. I enjoyed how their relationship evolved, and loved the HEA at the end. I hope we get to see their continuing relationship in the following books.

The mystery and suspense was very good. It kept me clueless until the reveal. I loved the final twist!

While I liked this book, I found a couple things frustrating. All the quick references to Jaime, Sean and Randy’s history were frustrating, as well as the fact Del and Emma met in another book. I didn’t realize this was a spin-off until I went to the author’s website. The story had several verb tense issues, typos and grammatical errors. The sequels are evident in the book, at least 3.

It will be interesting to see what direction the next book in the series takes.
