Description

Years before the events of Transition Age, a single city exposed the cracks beneath a carefully engineered future. In the aftermath of a catastrophic failure known as the Great Horizon Fault, the megaregion of Seattle became a test case the world would rather forget.

Following her harrowing escape from a subterranean lab, Iris Vale is thrust into the center of a global conspiracy. Guided by the chilling firsthand account of a surviving mother and son, Iris learns the historic disaster may not have been what everyone was told to believe.

To stop a new and escalating threat from dismantling the world, Iris must venture into Seattle's irradiated ruins to search for answers in a void of quantum entanglement. What she may uncover in the shadows of the fallen city could challenge the future of the Transition Age, forcing everyone to question the mystery of the children who vanished that dark winter.

A Note From the Publisher

My goal with the Transition Age Trilogy is to re-approach the science fiction and dystopian genres by grounding them in a future trajectory that feels terrifyingly possible from today’s governance and technology landscape. While the first book (Transition Age) explored a society that traded its autonomy to monopolized mega-corporations for engineered survival, Horizon Fault pushes this premise to its inevitable breaking point, showing how the future repeats the past not through malice, but through mathematical certainty.

The World of 2159

The story expands beyond the pristine, mile-high vertical megacities and descends into the cracked, irradiated skeletal remains of the Seattle megaregion. In the aftermath of a catastrophic failure known as the Great Horizon Fault, this fallen city has become a devastating test case the world was manipulated to forget.

Horizon Fault focuses on several core concepts:

The Collapse of Trust: A reality where official historical records are exposed as complete lies, revealing a fracture point where violence is obscured in the name of progress.

Quantum Entanglement: A deep dive into hard science fiction, exploring the volatile void where human consciousness interfaces with a traumatized city Quantum AI that was forced to destroy its own people.

Perspectives of Control: A shift into multi-perspective storytelling that examines the friction of shifting loyalties.

In Part 1, the story follows a surviving mother and son’s journey through the catastrophe of the Great Horizon Fault.

In Parts 2-4, the narrative returns to Iris Vale as she descends into the conspiracy behind how the Fault occurred, and why hundreds of children were abducted in 2141.

Future of the Trilogy | The Uncounted:

As I continue the trilogy toward its explosive conclusion in The Uncounted, the final installment will explore what happens when history can no longer be contained, forcing everyone to discover whether a world freed from certainty can still find its way forward.
