After being missing for more than a decade, Hiro suddenly reappears with no memory of who he is or what happened to him. As he tries to rebuild his life, his older brother Yuta refuses to let the past stay buried, pulling them both into a dangerous conspiracy involving powerful elites, corporate corruption, and the horrifying truth behind the children who never made it home.
This book completely exceeded my expectations. It starts as a mystery surrounding Hiro's disappearance, but quickly evolves into a dark, high-stakes thriller/horror that doesn't shy away from difficult subjects. The story is intense, unsettling, and packed with twists.
The relationship between Hiro and Yuta was one of my favourite parts of the novel. Beneath all the action and conspiracy lies an emotional story about family, loss and guilt.
There is so much more happening throughout the book that I don't want to spoil. It's the kind of book that refuses to pull its punches. It's brutal, emotive, and thought-provoking.

This was exactly the kind of crime novel I love—gritty, tense, and impossible to put down. The story wastes no time pulling the reader into its dangerous world, and the suspense only grows stronger with every chapter. The characters are flawed and believable, and the moral ambiguity makes the story even more compelling. The pacing is excellent, and the ending left me completely satisfied. A fantastic crime thriller that deserves a wide audience.
