Review for 'George Barry Peril In The Palm Oasis' by Jesse Basset

This may be the first book I have read by this incredible author but it most certainly will not be my last!! What an absolutely addictive, bonkers and hilarious page turner! It is also the second book in Jesse's 'George Barry' series but can be read as a standalone.

I really enjoyed this book and if this book is anything to go by I really cannot wait to go back and get stuck in to Jesse's previous and future books, especially the first book in this series which is called 'George Barry Lost In Burhampton'! What an absolutely brilliant one of a kind read!!

OMG!! What an absolutely brilliant page-turner!!!! Just flipping wow!!!! This book is seriously an absolutely satire, brilliant and entertaining page turner!! I was hooked from the very first page and throughout!

This book truly is an absolutely epic page turner!!! Well done to Jesse Basset on an absolutely addictive and fast paced read! I really do have absolutely NO idea whatsoever how on Earth I have never actually got around to reading any of your books before now, especially if this corker is anything to go by!! However, I am extremely pleased that that ridiculous mistake has now been rectified and I have discovered your incredible writing talent. You 1000% absolutely smashed it!!!!!!! As I previously mentioned this is the second book in the series and although I would always recommend reading books in a series in order, if you decide to start with this page turner, and nobody would blame you with that intriguing synopsis and cover, then have no fear!! There is a silver lining of starting a book later in the series and that is that while you are eagerly and impatiently waiting for the next book to come out you can go back and read the first book!! I must admit that I was not quite sure what to expect when I started reading this book so went in pretty much blind in regards to what genre it would come under. This is pretty unusual for me as tend to stick to certain genres so if you are like that then expand your literary types and grab a copy of this book today. I am very pleased that I did as I thoroughly enjoyed it! This is the type of book that is perfect to turn any frown upside down!! I lost count how many times I was in stitches from laughing and had tears streaming down my eyes. I wouldn't recommend reading it in public though or when taking a drink. I made the very silly mistake of doing both and not only ended up getting some very funny looks from other people waiting to see the doctor but also ended up spitting my drink out as I was laughing so much!! It truly is a fantastic, funny and quirky page turner!! I wont go in to the storyline as I don't want to risk giving anything away to future readers and the synopsis tells you what you need to know., It is the type of book that you just need to pick up and read for yourselves!! With a storyline ram packed with a gorgeous Spanish location, comedy, drama, satire, relationships, purpose, justice, endearment, warmth, laughter, community, joy, marriage, entertainment, humour and so very much more what on Earth are you waiting for? Grab your copy of 'George Barry Peril In The Palm Oasis', meet George and fall in love with him and the storyline today! Speaking of George, I absolutely LOVED him!! What an absolutely brilliant, larger than life, lovable, funny and just absolutely fantastic character! Not only was he unique but the storyline was too! I have read hundreds and hundreds of books so as you can imagine discovering something completely unique is getting harder and harder to do but Jesse has managed it hook, line and sinker in this brilliant page turner! You need to seriously clear your schedules as once you have started this book you will be hooked until the very end! I most certainly was and devoured it in one sitting of a few short hours and was left needing more! It does not matter whether you read this in the garden with a cocktail or curled up under a blanket with a hot chocolate as Jesse truly will transport you to Spain and next to George at the turn of a page. His absolutely fantastic, vivid and evocative writing skills will bring everything and everyone to life and will leave you completely immersed in the storyline!

You really do need to grab your copy of this unique and intriguing satirical page turner today and I can GUARANTEE you will not regret it, unless you are looking for a "normal", "typical" or serious read then you probably wont be impressed but you have been warned!!! Seriously people, what are you waiting for?!! This book is one of the most unforgettable and unputdownable books I have ever read!! Jesse's brilliant unique storytelling and writing sucks the reader straight into the storyline with the characters and surroundings coming to life around them. It is one of those books that I just simply could not put down and I walked around everywhere with my book glued to my hands. Every single chapter ended in a way that I had to know what was going to happen next and then it would move on to the next chapter and do the same so I blew through this in one sitting of just a few hours. Each and every single one of the characters were perfectly written and each had their own unique and strong personalities with individual strengths, weaknesses, quirks, flaws and more. You need to clear your schedules because you will not be able to put this book down. AN ABSOLUTE MUST READ!! They all have their own unique personalities and I enjoyed discovering their histories as the story unravelled. Pick up your copy of this book today and meet these fantastic characters yourself.

Overall an absolutely unputdownable, unique, bonkers and, humorous MUST READ! Utter brilliance!
