An interesting concept that was well researched. The content was not as far out there as I had anticipated. With the pace of technology - who knows this idea could be a reality one day. Fast paced, and good characters made this an interesting read with thought-provoking content.

Chase Sterling is happy. He's the star of a program followed by millions of people and for him the success looms ever larger.

Then, fate strikes, in the form of a fatal accident. He only survives thanks to artificial organs and electronic devices that enhance his skills, but trap him, under the power of his "saviors", using him like a puppet.

Chase decides to rebel and escapes, thanks to his "superpowers" and to the help of brave people. And, in search of his former assistant, he will enter the world of the ousted, especially of the Underground Church’s members, persecuted by the Government. For them he’ll use his new skills (and he’ll understand the meaning of his father’s words, "everything happens for a reason.").

"Wake the dead" is a book with believable and ever human characters (although sometimes they appear a little too "carefree" when facing critical choices).

A second book starring Chase Sterling is ready, a third is in preparation. If the Author will keep the plotting and writing quality of this first book, they’ll be a pleasure to read.
