Description
It was just supposed to be one night. Just a good puck to forget all about the stress of her upcoming hockey game…
Charlie Lajoie is no stranger to hard work. One of the best players in the PWHL for the Toronto Succubi and the daughter of one of the best hockey players in the world, there’s a lot of pressure for her to succeed on Team Canada in the Milan Winter Games.
When Olive Miller is unceremoniously dumped by her girlfriend before their big Italy vacation, she decides to go on it alone to finally get the long-awaited break from work she so desperately needs.
A night of rest and relaxation is what both women need, and who better to turn to than a fellow Torontonian in Italy? What starts as one night to release some stress quickly turns into more as Charlie can’t help but fall for Olive. But can their whirlwind fling go from a good puck to lasting an entire season?
From cozy sapphic author Rochelle Wolf comes a new hockey romance full of high heat and low stakes.
A Good Puck is part of the Love On The Podium shared queer universe romance series.

Oh wow, this audiobook was 🔥🔥🔥
I’ve read the story and loved it earlier in the year, and I was intrigued to find out what the narrators would do with the story. I think the narrators captured the characters so brilliantly - Olive is more sunshiney, but her story is tinged with sadness, while Charlie is more grumpy - but is she?? Listening to Charlie’s personality and character open up as the story progresses was such a joy.
I always really enjoy getting to know the characters in Rochelle Wolf’s stories. We get to see so many different sides to each character in such a short space! This book also included questioning of gender identity - starting with the subtle things, like with the use of different pronouns, to an outright conversation about gender, which I found fascinating and just a really good example of a respectful conversation. It really was a privilege getting to listen to this thought provoking story.

The perfect combination of spice and story. The story was so good, I actually wished it was longer. The narrators both did a fantastic job and I could distinguish the difference in voices and characters easily.
I love hockey romance.
I love a good, spicy book with characters that yearn and open communication.
I love LGBTQ+ representation.
A Good Puck by Rochelle Wolf delivers all of this, and the audiobook narrators brought it to life in a beautiful way.
Charlie and Olive are both Canadians visiting Italy for different reasons: Charlie for Olympics hockey and Olive going solo on a vacation she should have been on with her ex. When they meet in a Milan bar, their chemistry is instant. Cue a one night stand that leaves both of them wanting more. . .
A Good Puck has sweet moments, smart moments and very hot, crave-worthy moments, and I truly enjoyed the portrayal of the characters by narrators Robin Amanda and Ann Dahlia.
Thank you to the author, Victory Editing and Netgalley for the advanced listening copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
