What a beautiful book! I love the warm Fall colors of the illustrations. My 7 year old and I both thought the fairy tale was a clever way to explain why the leaves change color and fall off the trees. I also enjoyed the message woven into the fairy tale that Carrie believed in her ideas and stuck with them, even when the others didn't agree. In the end, they realize how wonderful the ideas really were. This is a heartwarming story that would be an excellent read-aloud to welcome Fall!

Carrie the Tree Fairy would be the perfect book to read to younger elementary schoolers just as they are noticing the tree starting to turn!

In this book, Carrie gets creative and spends a whole evening painting a tree in autumn hues. At first, the other fairies are upset about it but then they see human children delighting in her creation and they decide to join in and paint all the trees.

It would be so much fun to read this to a class and then do a craft activity involving, say, painting autumn trees! Or collecting bright leaves and ironing them between wax paper sheets.

An adorably whimsical explanation for why trees change colors in the fall. Perfect for building strong imaginations and joy in tiny humans' lives, Carrie the Tree Fairy is a fun tale about how new strategies can be better than old. Carrie's creativity receives pushback, but through communication and observing the results, her classmates eventually agree the uncertainty- and anxiety it can provide- is worth the joy it gives! As someone who struggles with trying new things, I love the moral of the story and reassurance it gives. This is a perfect story time book for little readers, encouraging their minds to branch out as they go outside, slow down, notice, and play with the beautiful fall colors before they blow away.

Thank you to One Wild, Victory Editing, and NetGalley for this Arc.

This children's story was such a cute and creative way to explain the changing of the leaves. I loved the rhyming and the idea of fairies making things magical. The illustrations were also colorful and fun, enhancing the idea of painting the leaves. This would be a great story for 2-4 year olds.

I really enjoyed this children's book about the leaves changing in fall.
Fall is my favorite time of year so I especially loved all of the autumnal colors in the beautiful illustrations throughout this book. The book encourages kids to use their imagination about why they think the leaves change colors and eventually fall, in that it is actually magical tree fairies who are doing it. I thought this was such a cute concept.
I definitely see myself reading this for storytime, especially since the rhyming flow was so well done.

REVIEW: Carrie the Tree Fairy

First, Carrie the Tree Fairy is beautifully illustrated! It has so many colors, and it makes the story feel so whimsical. The story itself was absolutely adorable. It is a fun, magical take on how leaves change colors in the fall and fall to the ground. There are also moments where Carrie feels left out or like they don't believe in her, which is a great way to connect with kids in very similar situations. I thought Carrie the Tree Fairy was such a magical, sweet story that I would love to have in my school library, especially because fall is my favorite season!

Thank you, NetGalley and One Wild, for providing me with a free advance copy for my honest review.
