I loved this book! This story follows Abigail, a paleontologist, trying to survive and continue her father’s work after he passed away. During her fossil exploring on a local beach, she meets Robert (MMC), a retired Navy officer turned spy. Robert has been sent to Dorset undercover to catch a smuggling ring. He pretends to be interested in fossils to convince Abigail to show him around and to see if she knows who is running the smuggling. I appreciate that he supports her career even though woman during that era were not allowed into the sciences.

I love a woman in STEM romance and this did not disappoint. I also LOVED that this story was inspired by the real Mary Anning, a paleontologist from Dorset during the Georgian era. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves historical romance or women in STEM books.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.
