Description
A slow-burn, cozy paranormal romance with real stakes.
Stars Hollow x Northern Exposure, with vampires. For readers of The Ex Hex, My Roommate is a Vampire, Payback’s a Witch, and Bride.
Ellery runs to Alaska to figure out what she wants. Too bad nobody mentioned her new boss is grumpy, gorgeous, and technically dead.
Twenty-four years of being the perfect daughter ends with one explosive fight, three thousand miles, and a taxi driver named Gary who drops her in the entirely wrong town. Stranded, she takes the first job she’s ever chosen for herself. Falling for the locals is not on the itinerary.
Nick would like it noted, for the record, that he did not sign up for any of this. He didn't ask to be a vampire. He didn't ask to inherit his dead father's tour company, or the interspecies pact that chains him to Ravenslight Creek for the rest of his very long life. And he definitely didn't ask to hire some city girl in an impractical coat (that part was his meddling mother).
But stuck together, night after night under the northern lights, something shifts. For the first time in her life, Ellery feels seen. And Nick, who gave up on wanting anything, starts to want her. Badly.
When something with teeth comes hunting too close to town, too close to Ellery, Nick is forced to show her exactly what he is, and pray she doesn't run screaming back to New York.
Ellery doesn’t run. She has questions – lots of them. Which is a problem, because Ravenslight Creek has a way of dealing with outsiders who learn too much.
He can't leave.
She was never supposed to stay.
He won’t be the reason she does.

Book one of the Ravenslight Creek series | 84,000 words
Tropes: grumpy x sunshine, small town Alaska, slow burn, forced proximity (one van, many long, cold nights), found family, he falls first and he falls hard, workplace romance, vampire x human, a little spicy. Cozy vibes with real stakes.
For reviewers: First person, present tense, dual POV (Nick & Ellery). The central romance resolves in this book. A series thread opens in the final scene that carries into book two. No cliffhanger. HFN with a series hook. Book two follows different leads in the same town.
Content notes: Emotionally manipulative and controlling parents, estrangement from parents; grief and reference to a parent’s death before the book begins; some on-page violence and character death (not graphic); livestock death (aftermath only, not graphic); attempted physical assault (vampire attack); non-consensual memory alteration and the threat of it; mention of missing persons; people held captive; implied surveillance; consensual blood drinking; explicit sexual content, two open door scenes (sensual not graphic, consent negotiated on page, 2-3 🌶️ heat level); profanity. For adult readers.

"The most perfect cozy small town vibes with a mystery that will make it hard to put down. And the romance? So good!!! Obsessed." – ARC Reviewer
"I devoured it in less than twenty-four hours, and now I am sad it is over! Highly recommend this cozy read." – ARC Reviewer
"This was a fun read that I raced through! I adored Nick & Ellery together & how they had to work to get what they wanted, i.e. each other! I will definitely be waiting eagerly for the next book in this series. Hopefully, some of the questions we didn’t get answers to in this book will be found there because I need to know!" – ARC Reviewer
"I loved all the characters, especially our leading characters! It was easy to connect with the characters in a level in where in one point of our lives we feel stuck and we need to carve our own way to be happy and enjoy life...I enjoyed the banter of our main leading characters, the growth our leads shown throughout the book, and the tension and love they have for each other." – ARC Reviewer
"This story went much better along than any cozy paranormal romance that I have read in the past. This is because of the strong character development. An exceptionally fun read!!" – ARC Reviewer
"An excellent series starter." – ARC Reviewer
"The background characters feel really cool and like they also exist properly in the author's head." – ARC Reviewer

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Ashgardia Press for the ARC 🥹🎀🫶🏻
A slow burn paranormal romance in small town Alaska with a grumpy vampire boss!! 🤭
This was sooo cute, I ate it up in one day!
Ellery comes to Alaska because she’s tired of her controlling parents. I loooved her, she’s so likable and relatable.
Nick tries to push Ellery away because he’s scared of his feelings, and uhhhh, I was so mad at him 😭 Luckily, he comes to his senses because they’re so cute together!! 🤭
Nick isn’t that likable at first, but he grows on you, and suddenly you like him and don’t even know how it happened 🤭
I really loved Rebecca’s writing style. It pulled me into the story so fast, and I just didn’t want to stop reading.
If you like vampires, paranormal romance, or a small town slow burn, I really recommend this one 🫶🏻

Don't sleep on this story! I loved the nuanced take on vampire lore, and I'm absolutely gagging for the next book for the continuing story arc and resolution of things that were hunted in this one.
I received my copy via NetGalley! All opinions are my own!
Vampires in Alaska- what more could you want?
I enjoyed this so much! Vampires are a new obsession for me... and now I'm not ever going to stop reading vampire books.
This book was cozy with moments that got your heart racing! (In all ways ;) ) This little town in Alaska has secrets, and they were so fun to discover along with Ellery! I also LOVE a story about a person leaving their shell and gaining the confidence to do it; in that regard, Ellery was absolutely amazing!
Nick is a character that has to grow on you; for a while there, I wasn't so sure... but I think that's just how he is. He doesn't really let people in... readers included. I think with the context of... well, the last 30% his behavior makes a lot more sense.
I would go on one of their tours anytime!
My Advice: If you're a fan of vampires (or paranormal) romances and are looking for something fun and a little wintery, pick this up! (And give Nick a chance! He grows on you!)
