When Christopher, a cautious city kid is shipped off to small-town Vermont for the summer, he schemes to get home, far away from perilous encounters with insects, skunks, bears, and relatives—worst of all his swamp-loving cousin, Darwinna.

Desperate to go home, Christopher takes on odd jobs with quirky neighbors to secretly earn his plane fare back to San Francisco. Meanwhile he’s forced to contend with disastrous swim lessons, swampy misadventures, and a suspicious kid who writes his own newspaper, filled with embarrassing fake news about Christopher.

Christopher’s self-esteem grows along with his bankroll. That is, until he’s faced with a sink-or-swim incident in The Swamp, where he must finally face all his fears.

Humorous, hopeful, and action-packed, Totally Swamped will totally captivate even the most reluctant readers.
