Mean Girls but make it academic sabotage. A scathingly funny and timely suspense following the “Top 10” of a graduating high school class when, due to disastrous circumstances, their rankings get scrambled, igniting a war in the race to “get ahead.”

Kasey Golden is content being a rank 8 student. But when a hurricane floods her school, she and the rest of her senior class are forced to combine with another school that calculates rank differently. Overnight, Kasey ascends from rank 8 to rank 3, putting her within distance to claim valedictorian by the end of the year and placing a target on her back.

Over the coming months, Kasey and her classmates face sabotage in the form of stolen assignments, school vandalism, and a teacher bent on giving Kasey low marks so her class-favorite can take the lead.

When two of the leading saboteurs threaten to take Kasey down next if she doesn’t help them target the current rank 1, Kasey starts down her own dark path. It starts small—some blackmail, some rumors. But as the descent progresses, Kasey is forced to ask herself: How much is she willing to lose in the race to get ahead?

A darkly comedic and unflinchingly honest portrait of toxic competition and the drive for perfection. With page-turning, searing wit, Rank Chasers examines the ever-increasing pressures high school students face to secure the best possible future.
