In the chaos of New York, true love can be hard to find, even when it's been right under your nose all along…

Love has never been a priority for garden designer Frankie Cole. After witnessing the fallout of her parents' divorce, she's seen the devastation an overload of emotion can cause. The only man she feels comfortable with is her friend Matt—but that's strictly platonic. If only she found it easier to ignore the way he makes her heart race…

Matt Walker has loved Frankie for years but, sensing how fragile she is beneath her feisty exterior, has always played it cool. But then he uncovers new depths to the girl he's known forever and doesn't want to wait a moment longer. He knows Frankie has secrets and has buried them deep, but can Matt persuade her to trust him with her heart and kiss him under the Manhattan sunset?

I'm not really a fan of contemporary YA books let alone an adult contemporary. I wasn't expecting so much from this book and I thought this would be a cutesy contemporary love-at-first-sight kind of book. It proves me wrong the more I read this book. I never knew I could relate to characters as much as I did with Frankie. Her character was very real. It gives an insight of what's going on inside the head of a person who happens to be in the middle of the fall out. It's real, it's refreshing and it is very easy to get to. Plus the fact that Frankie loves books makes me love her even more.

This is one of those fast paced contemporary books that would keep you turning the pages. (Full review on the link down below.)

Yay, book #2 in the Manhattan with Love series!!! I absolutely adored book #1 and fell in love with the characters. In this book it’s Frankie’s and Matt’s turn. Matt was my favourite in book 1 already ;). the story kicks off where Paige's and Jake's has ended. they have great news as well, but let's focus on Matt and Frankie now. Frankie is insecure and shy, especially when it comes to love, romance, relationships and sex. it's all because of what happened in her past, between her parents. Matt has been in love with her for a long time and he is determined to cack her shell. She slowly opns up to him, but is still scared. She can be herself with him and everybody sees that, especially Paige and Eva. The two of them get their coverage in the story as well, which is lovely. Matt gets Frankie to go back to Puffin Island, which has always scaed her, but it' s not so bad after all and she can finally be true to zeself. But is that enough for their relationship to grow deeper and be par of their furure.m I loved reading about Puffin Island again, because it covered all the charafters of that series too, it was fab to cach up with them.

It was also great to read about Paige and Jake again. Their story was wonderful.

We get to explore New York through this story once more, with Sarah talking about some fabulous places, especially Central Park.

The friendships portrayed in this book are incredible. First of all the three women, who are inseparable and always there for each other, but also Matt and Jake being best friends, Matt and Paige as siblings and the five of them as a group. I want to part of their group please! We got to read about both Matt's and Fankie's feelings, which was beautiful, because they belong together, but went through a different journey to get there. One thing I absoltely adored and admired in this story were the chapter openings. Every chapter started with a quote frim either Franke, Paige or Eva, describing love and ither situations and perfectly fitting each chapter, without giving away too much, so sweet.

I couldn’t put this book down. It might seem like a normal rom com, like every other, but it’s not! Sarah takes it to a whole new level with her writing. It’s so vivid, passionate and full of life, I felt like being there with the characters. I adore the storyline, it flows beautifully and the characters? Well, every single one of them is awesome! They are all great personalities and very unique. I can’t wait to dive into book three of the series and find out what Sarah has in store for Eva. Sunset in Central Park is an amazingly written story by a very talented author, who hooks you with her words!!!

I enjoyed this so much. It's fun, it's romantic, and even if I wanted to give Frankie a bit of a slap sometimes, I understood why she was behaving the way that she did. Sarah Morgan's created a group of relatable women who are good at their jobs (I love me some competence porn!) and strong enough to stand up for themselves and paired them up with some strong (but not Alphole) men who compliment them. It was great to see the Puffin Island couples again for part of this too. I think I liked the first book in this series more - but that's because I'm more of a Paige than a Frankie. I can't wait to see what happens in Eva's book - the trailer at the end of this left me wanting to read a Christmas-themed book in July. What an achievement!

‘Sunset in Central Park' by Sarah Morgan is the second novel in the romantic trilogy called ‘From Manhattan With Love’. This novel tells Matthew and Frankie’s story.

Matthew is Frankie’s friend and landlord. They have known each other forever and have always been good friends. They share a love of the natural world and especially of garden design, plants, trees, shrubs and flowers. She knows everything about him, after all he is her best friend’s older brother, but one thing she does not know about Matt is that he has been secretly in love with her for ages. He is handsome, gregarious, confident and very successful with the ladies. To her he is a God, untouchable. He is determined to play it cool and take it slowly with Frankie, but he is just so desperate for an enduring relationship with her. She is ‘the one’ for him.

Frankie and her two best friends Paige and Eva recently set up a fledgling business called ‘Urban Genie’ and luckily it has become a huge overnight success. It is an event-planning agency where each has their own speciality that support and complement the others. She is certainly attracted to Matthew. She is easy in his company but will not risk their friendship for anything. She does not believe in the ‘happy ever after’ and hides behind glasses that she doesn’t even need. Her experience of dating has been disastrous and so Matthew is most definitely on her ‘don’t go there’ list. So the premise for 'Sunset in Central Park' is a ‘will they, won’t they?’ and a ‘what will happen if they do?’ storyline.

Of course there is so much more than this romance to the novel. There are friendships, back histories, business research and planned events, family issues, laying the ghosts of the past to rest and much more. This is a well-rounded novel with delightful storytelling and a cast of welcome, familiar characters as well as newly introduced characters. There is a gorgeous beach wedding (not Matthew’s and Frankie’s – there are no spoilers here!), reunions and a visit to Puffin Island where both Matthew and Frankie grew up. It was lovely to revisit the characters that made the ‘Puffin Island’ series so enjoyable and popular. If you love heartwarming romantic stories then this is the novel for you. I would like to thank Netgalley and Mira for my copy of ‘Sunset in Central Park', sent out to me in return for an honest review. It’s a sturdy 8/10 from me. I’m so looking forward to reading the third book in the series ‘Miracle on 5th Avenue’ featuring the third friend Eva and her beau Lucas.

Oh wow! What an absolutely amazing story. The emotions, the friendships, and the hot love scenes? What more can you ask for? I have been waiting for Frankie's story and it was so worth the wait. Matt was hot, hot, hot! And when he set his sights on Frankie it was just awesome. He had a lot of work to do to convince Frankie to overcome her issues and trust in love. There were fun times and there were some tear jerking moments that just filled my heart for these wonderful characters in this story. And throughout the story I constantly had a smile on my face. I loved being immersed in this wonderful world watching relationships develop and friendship strengthen. Sarah Morgan has created such lovable characters that I don't want to leave this world she created. And for fans of her previous Puffin Island series, you'll get to revisit some favorite characters from that series in this story. So fun to catch up with what's happening in those lives. Now I must wait impatiently for Eva to get her HEA. I really can't wait. Too excited.

liked the cover as soon as I saw it. The purple/pink combination is a favourite of mine.
The story had me hooked. It was so heartwarming with a hint of double entendre that I loved. Susan Morgan is so talented I always look forward to reading her books and thus one certainly did not disappoint.
A great beach, poolside or garden read.

Sarah Morgan is one of my discoveries of the year and everything about her stories, couples and writing works for me. Having loved Sleepless in Manhattan and Midnight at Tiffany's I was excited to dive into Sunset in Central Park, and it doesn't disappoint.

"Sunset in Central Park, it doesn't get any more perfect."

The best-friends older brother trope is one of my absolute favourites and I always appreciate a story paced to create build-up between the couple in question. And when you have a heroine who isn't a believer in love or happy ever afters, you know the hero is going to have his work cut out.

"Romance has the same effect on me as garlic does on vampires."

I've said characters are relatable before but seriously, Frankie is frighteningly like me. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is up to the reader; guarded and a stubborn to the point of frustration I'm sure she'll be a character that splits reader opinion. But from her independence and love of alone time, to her no mess way with words, her honesty, awkwardness with complements, inability to flirt, horror at the thought of people hugging her, yet fierce love for her closest friends, she's remarkably similar to me; I related hugely to her and whilst I'm certainly not saying I love myself, I did love her.

"He was a man in a million."

Patient, gentle and absolutely resolute that he and Frankie are right for one another and determined to show her what she's missing out on, Matt Walker is a very sexy guy in a quietly confident and unassuming way and I was cheering him on from the start. And when he uttered almost the exact same words that my husband said to me on our first date, he completely stole my heart.

"You have beautiful eyes, and they’re beautiful with or without the glasses."

With Paige, Jake and Eva each bringing personality and life to the story with their humour, banter and lovely touching moments, plus the introduction of Roxy and James (I sense something brewing there), Sunset in Central Park was a delight to read.

"Magic happens in this city. It’s full of hope and possibilities."

I can't wait to return to Manhattan for Eva's story later this year; if it's as strong as Paige and Jake's, and Frankie and Matt's, then I'll be singing from the top of the Rockefeller Centre.

I would like to say not that long ago I did a review of the first in this series and absolutely loved it so I constantly kept checking for this one cause I had to see how Matt and Frankie finally got together. This book did not disappoint at all I loved it and could not put it down once I started it.

Frankie has damaged good written all over her she avoids romance and men like the plague. Matt Paige's older brother who lets her live in his apartment building for a small rent have all been friends since they were kids in a small town in Maine. As the story begins Matt who is a designer of roof top when one of his top employees has an emergency and ends up leaving Frankie is asked to help with a big project that is on a deadline. The sparks are flying especially when Matt discovers that Frankie is hiding behind her hideous glasses. That is just the beginning and I do not want to give away to much of the plot. This is an amazing series that I can not wait for the third on in the series. This is a perfect beach day read when you can get lost with a great book.
